WEB Patricia Bandy

A resident of Jordan, Patricia Ann Kathryn Bandy, was 77, when she passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, October 19, 2015, at St Gertrude’s Health and Rehabilitation Center, Shakopee, MN.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, October 23 at 11 am, with the visitation starting at 9:30 am, all at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 100 6th St W., Jordan. Pastor Jeremy Glowicki will preside. The pall bearers will be Dawn Claussen Olson, Nathan Bandy, Whitney Jones, Alora Jones, Tom Vohnoutka and Michael Vohnoutka. Pat will be laid to rest at Spirit Hill Cemetery, Jordan, MN.

Born on March 17, 1938 in Shakopee, MN, Pat was the daughter to parents Edward and Rose (Schug) Green. Growing up in Shakopee, she was the youngest of seven children. As the baby of the family, Pat soon became the spoiled one! At the same time, she needed to hold her own, so at times (many times) Pat’s spirited personality would shine through. As a young girl, she was exceptionally proud of and adored her brothers for their courage and dedication while serving in the military during war times.

Through mutual friends, Pat was introduced to a young handsome man, Clyde Bandy. After taking her home from a babysitting job, they soon began courting. At the age of 16, Pat became Clyde’s (age 19) wife on November 20, 1954. Theirs was the last wedding to take place at the old St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Second Street. Through their (almost) 62 years of marriage, Pat and Clyde were blessed with four children, Robin, Clyde Jr, Pam, Holly; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Most of Pat’s career was spent as a secretary. In the early 1970’s and late 1990’s into the early 2000’s, she took care of the day to day parish needs for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jordan, MN. Pat was also a great asset as a secretary at Gedney Pickles, Aero Engineering and Ermak Foundry. Once retired, she became bored. Pat decided to take a job as a lunch lady for the Jordan School District. A career path she truly enjoyed, for Pat loved to interact with the kids.

Working full time, Pat still experienced life to the fullest and was well advanced in knowledge as a woman. Over the years living on a hobby farm, she was fearless and determined. It did not matter the task, if it meant delivering a calf by herself or riding the horse to herd the cows. Mending a fence, butchering chickens or raising deer, Pat could do it all! Her talents did not stop there. Pat was a very gifted gardener. She had the most beautiful flower gardens! Pat also spent countless hours in the vegetable garden and canning the fruits of her labor. Her hands were always busy. Pat enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, knitting and sewing as well. In addition, she was an exceptional cook.

When Pat had a moment to relax with her children early on in life, she enjoyed spending summers playing softball in the front yard and riding snowmobiles in the winter. Pat also liked participating in bowling leagues and being the pitcher for the Corner Bar in a softball league. For over 20 years, she and Clyde relished the memories and friendships formed while camping at the Chain of Lakes in Richmond, MN. As a couple, Pat and Clyde also loved playing Sheephead with family and friends.

Pat’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandma. She had a strong faith, with a great desire for her children to follow in her footsteps. Pat was a beautiful, vibrant and determined woman.

Left to honor Pat’s life and mourn her death is her husband, Clyde Bandy; children, Clyde Jr (Mary) Bandy, Pam (Julius Jones) Bandy, Holly (Kevin) Vohnoutka; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death and there to welcome Pat home in heaven is her beloved daughter, Robin Claussen; parents, Ed and Rose Green; all of her siblings, Jerome, Joe, Eddy Green, Kay Williams, Ceil Derhaag, and Rosemarie Lubbers.

Clyde and family-we were able to meet Pat and Clyde at Cedar Sunrise Estates in Richmond, MN. We were neighbors for a few years and enjoyed both of your company. Had fun times with laughs and sitting on your deck with cocktails. Pat was an amazing woman and I enjoyed listening to her stories and all the things she had accomplished and more. May she rest in peace and her memories live on with all of you forever.
