Virginia G. Hook, age 91, of Bloomington, MN, passed away on November 8, 2025.

A Christian Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM with Time of Gathering from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Friday November 21, 2025 at Highview Christiania Lutheran Church, 26690 Highview Ave, Farmington, MN. Virginia will be laid to rest at Highview Christiania Lutheran Cemetery immediately after services. Pastor Amy Johnson will preside.

Virginia Grace (Grindeland) Hook (91), our loving mother and friend, joined her beloved husband, John, and her daughter, Sara, in everlasting life on November 8, 2025. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Terry), her sons John (Diania) and Peter (Karlene), and her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Virginia was a tomboy in her youth, holding her own with her three older brothers and younger sister, playing on her grandparents’ farm. She had many friends in high school and participated in event planning and gymnastics (who knew?). She married her high school sweetheart and raised four children with him – working hard to make sure they all had a comfortable home. Holidays were her specialty, especially Christmas. It was very important to her that traditions continue. She also made many neighborhood friends, with whom she and John played cards and snowmobiled.

After her children graduated high school, she reinvented herself as a working woman, moving from retail clothing sales to managing accounts receivables for a machine tool company. She enjoyed earning an income and spending time lunching and shopping with good friends.

Some of her most special moments were spent with her daughters – looking for primitive antiques and garage sale bargains. Every fall, they searched roadway ditches for rose hips, bittersweet, and different foliage, with which they made beautiful wreaths. Virginia made several Afghans and quilts for her family and grandchildren. She also knit many hats, scarves and placemats for her friends and family.

Even after losing her husband of 70 years and struggling with dementia, she maintained her sweet nature and endeared herself to fellow residents and caretakers in memory care.

May she rest in peace knowing she was loved.
