Troy Koster, 47, of Prior Lake, MN, entered his eternal home with Jesus on November 18, 2025. He was born on February 19, 1978, in Hastings, MN, where his life began in the warmth of a loving family and a community that helped shape his strong character and steadfast faith.
Troy was baptized on April 15, 1978, and later confirmed in his faith on January 20, 2018. His walk with Christ was a steady source of strength and purpose throughout his life.
A proud veteran, Troy honorably served in the United States Army from 1996 to 2006, achieving the rank of Specialist (E-4). His service reflected his deep sense of duty, commitment, and courage—qualities that continued to define him in the years that followed.
On September 1, 2018, Troy married the love of his life, Amanda (Schultz) Koster. Together, they built a home filled with joy, companionship, and gratitude for each blessing the Lord provided.
Troy was a man who felt closest to God in the beauty of His creation. He had a natural gift for dog training, forming loyal bonds with the dogs he worked with. He cherished time spent duck hunting, preparing unforgettable BBQ meals, and especially trout fishing with Cory and Joey, moments that brought him deep joy and friendship. Time outdoors—whether on the water or in the woods—was where Troy found peace and purpose.
Some of his most treasured memories were made at the family cabin, where life slowed down, laughter was abundant, and time with loved ones was cherished. Troy valued his family and friends above all else, making every gathering memorable through his warmth, humor, and genuine presence. He will be remembered not only for his kindness and loyalty, but also for his humor and endless jokes, which brought light and laughter to everyone around him.
In his final act of generosity, Troy was an organ donor, giving the gift of life and hope to others—a true reflection of his compassionate and selfless heart.
Troy is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda; mother, Judy Koster; father, Brad Koster and stepmother, Pam Swanson; brother, Chris Koster; in-laws, Steve and Pat Schultz; and sister-in-law, Stephanie Schultz. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, and by his special cousins, Cory (Lisa) Ferdig, Misty (Justin) Broady, Joey (Ariane) Frank, along with many more cousins and dear friends who loved him greatly.
He is preceded in death by sister, Holly Koster; grandparents, Donald and Clarice Frank and Irvin and Evelyn Koster; aunts, Robin Corbin and Sue Koster; uncles, Loran Koster, Bruce Koster, and Terry Frank; cousins, Brianna and Wyatt.
Rooted in faith, kindness, generosity, and joy, Troy touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
