Theodore Henry Faul, age 87, of Burnsville, MN, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, holding hands with his loving wife, Jeanne of 64 years.

Ted was born in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Theodore E. & Evelyn Faul. He graduated from Washburn High School in 1956. Following graduation, Ted served in the United States Marine Corps. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Ted retired from the Minneapolis Police Department after 33 years of service as a Deputy Chief in 1994. He held the following positions with MPD: Officer, Seargent, Lieutenant, Captain, Inspector & Deputy Chief.

After retiring, Ted spent 30 plus winters in Surprise, AZ. Golfing, running, socializing and in his free time worked as a Ranger at Coyote Lakes GC & a starter at Brackett’s Crossings CC for 25 years. As well, Ted enjoyed the family’s lake home. You could always find him water skiing, teaching others to ski, swimming or golfing. But spending time with his family was priority number one. Especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Ted lived his life as a Christ Follower who walked the path of faith, fidelity, honor & commitment in everything he did. His Wife, Jeanne was the love of his life, and even in his final days, Ted’s entire world lit up whenever he saw her. Ted will be missed by so many but will forever be remembered through stories, photos and countless memories.

Ted is survived by his beautiful wife, Jeanne; sons, Teddy, (Lisa), son Tom, (Claire); grandchildren, Joey (Carin), Julia (Tanner), Christopher (Michelle); 4 incredible great grandchildren, Bauer, Emma, Cale and Zia.

Ted’s life was full of love, laughter, and service to fellow men. Though the pain of loss is never easy – his family finds comfort in knowing he is in Heaven with Jesus, his parents, countless family/friends, three golden retrievers and our Lord, the Almighty God.
