Terry L. Morlock

Terry L. Morlock passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family on July 11, 2026.

A Christian Funeral will be held 11am Saturday, July 25, 2026, with visitation 9:30 – 10:45am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 100 Sixth Street, Jordan, followed by burial at Spirit Hill Cemetery. Pastor Jeremy Glowicki will preside.

Terence Lee Morlock was born on September 14, 1935, in Minneapolis, to Henry and Agnes (Eilers) Morlock. Along with his younger siblings, Phyllis and Rodney, the Morlock kids were raised in Jordan where they attended grade school. Terry graduated from Concordia High School in St. Paul before attending college in North Dakota where he would hitchhike to and from home for weekend work on the family mink ranch. He would often reminisce that semi-drivers would plan their routes on when Terry would need a ride. After a few years at college, Terry chose to stay in Minnesota and began working full time at the mink ranch while also volunteering for the Jordan Fire Department. During these years, he loved cars and his pride was a ’55 Plymouth given to him by his dad who won the car at the Scott County Fair that year.

In 1962, Terry met the love of his life, Judy Nielsen on a blind date. They were married in 1963 and were blessed with two boys, Mitchell and Jasen. In 1967, the Morlocks built a home outside of town and Terry took a job at Continental Machines in Savage while also taking print classes at Dunwoody and Hennepin Vo-Tech. He also took a meat cutting class, so as a family they would cut their own beef. The family of four enjoyed many memorable weekends camping, where Mitch was always the helper, setting up and tending to the campsite, while Jasen was the social butterfly out meeting new neighbors every trip. Holidays were very important and were always spent as a family.

Terry retired from Continental Machines in 1997 and spent his retirement years outside, tending to lawns and farming. He worked hard to ensure all lawns in his life were meticulously cared for – at the Belle Plaine Golf Course, where he worked on the grounds crew, at home, and at the farm. Terry passed his love and knowledge of working on the land to his boys - farm work to Mitch and gardening to Jasen.

Terry stayed active throughout his life. He played baseball one year for the Jordan Brewers, 15 years on a fast-pitch softball team, he bowled in numerous leagues and also enjoyed deer hunting with his family. The greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren – he especially loved cheering them on at their sporting events.

Terry will be forever missed by his beloved spouse of 63 years, Judy; their sons, Mitchell (Rose) Morlock of Jordan, Jasen (Dana) Morlock of Spooner, WI; grandchildren, Tyler (Makayla) Morlock of Jordan, Alex (Marisa) Morlock of St. Peter, Hannah (Spencer) Svoboda of Shakopee, Rachel Morlock of Menominee, WI; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Olivia, and Lettie Morlock, Henry, Noa, and Romy Morlock, and Weston and Lyla Svoboda; his siblings, Phyllis TeSlaa, Rod Morlock; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes; sister-in-law, Sharon Morlock; brother-in-law, Al TeSlaa; and his goddaughter, Gretchen Morlock. He is also preceded in death by his parents in law, Nestor and Ruth Nielsen, and step-sister, Pat (Ray) Weckman.

The Morlock family extends its heartfelt thanks for the dedicated caregivers and Allina Hospice for the compassion given to Terry and his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred and will be distributed by Terry’s family in his honor.
