Steven Douglas Jerde

Steven Douglas Jerde of Rochester, MN passed away on February 15th, 2026.

He was born on May 20th, 1959, to father Douglas and mother Elna Jerde. He grew up with his three siblings, Patrice, Kristine, and Craig. He later attended Winona State University and built a career in pharmaceutical sales.

On August 29, 1981, he married Laura Graddy. They shared more than 44 years of marriage and built their life together centered on their family. Steven was a loving and proud father to his two children, Calvin (Alyssa) and Amelia (Max). Calvin and Alyssa’s daughters, Elenora and Emmeline, were his very treasured granddaughters and brought him immeasurable joy.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Jerde. He is survived by his wife, Laura; his mother, Elna; his siblings Patricie Branca (William), Kristine Oscarson (Richard), and Craig Jerde; his son Calvin (Alyssa) and daughter Amelia Ketterlig (Max) and two grandchildren.

Steven had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and found great happiness in horseback riding. He was also a fan of classic rock music. A man of many talents and interests, he enjoyed sailing, skiing, hunting, watercolor painting, baking, and woodworking. Steven found fulfillment in creativity and nature and believed in always having a project. He will be remembered for his bright sense of humor and resilience.

There will be a private service held with immediate family to celebrate Steven’s life.
