It is with shattered hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our wonderful father on May 2, 2025, at “the farm” in Jordan, MN.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 14, 2025, at the Prior Lake VFW from 11:30-2:30PM.
Scott grew up in Little Falls, MN on his family farm along the Mississippi River. As a child, he enjoyed fishing, shooting his BB gun, gardening with Mah, driving the tractor, and chasing his dogs around. His family later moved to Eden Prairie, MN where he would graduate from high school in 1972. Scott attended votech school and got a degree in Mechanics.
Scott’s 45+ years with the City of Bloomington began when he was 18 years old. He was hired at Dwan Golf Course, and in 1978 Scott began running “The Crew” at Hyland Greens Golf Course. During those years, Scott didn’t just work, but he got to do what he loved best every day. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of the greens, and reminiscing with the golfers, as well as the workers. His “3 girls” will always remember golf cart rides all over the course and stopping in at the clubhouse for a pop and a candy bar.
Scott was “one of a kind!” Everyone who knew him knew he loved his routine and structured lifestyle. He was very clean, organized, and meticulous. Everything had a spot. His personality was kind, generous, laid back, and free-spirited. He had a smile that was gentle, his eyes were warm, and his hugs were comforting.
During SKE’s free time, he took pride in driving around his infamous ‘78 Ford blue truck. Besides his girls, that was his most prized possession. He loved cruising down the street with the windows down and arm leaning out. Scott also enjoyed tinkering on anything with an engine. He always took the time to check his girl’s vehicles. He would say “pop the hood,” “turn your blinkers on”, “let’s check your lights”. His daughters could always rely on him for everything, especially vehicle maintenance.
Scott’s low-key lifestyle was simple. Living at the farm, where he found peace in feeding and watching the birds, sitting in “the shed” listening to music on KCHK radio. Classic rock, classic country, or polka could be heard, with a “cold one” in his hand. Drinks at the bar for happy hour, a Windsor 7 or a Labatt Blue chatting with his buds. Fishing was one of his favorite things to do in his free time, either going up north to fish with friends or visiting the local lakes. He loved gardening, camping, nature/anything outdoors, and grilling. A little cruise to get fresh air or attending the local farmers’ market were among the activities he enjoyed.
Scott cherished the little things in life, like a home-cooked meal, a pie made by his mother, dilly bars from DQ, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, a glass of wine, a cold old fashioned, a plain hamburger straight off the grill, veggies from his daughter’s garden, anything chocolate, the Scott County fair, tacos from Taco Bell, a good turkey sandwich from Jimmy Johns-extra pickle and onion, and his favorite, Lay’s classic potato chips.
More than anything, Scott loved his girls. Jesseca, Jennifer, and Julia. They were his world. The amount of love Scott shared with them was unconditional, pure, and endless. He truly was the best Dad to his girls.
Scott also took pride in being a Grandpa. He never missed a chance to spend time with his family, especially his grandkids. Hunter, Haylee, Lincoln, and Vaeda truly filled his heart with joy. Scott also felt lucky and happy he gained Sam as a grandson too.
He was a “one of a kind” Grandpa. He never missed a Pizza Hut pizza party, family dinner, birthday party, choir concert, or a donut date at the bakery. He loved being silly, having fun, and spoiling them with goodies like Dilly Bars, cookies, brownies, and of course Twinkies. Scott adored them and wanted to be a part of anything and everything. Family was important, always.
Scott was a loyal son, brother, uncle, Dad, grandpa, and friend. He believed in honesty, love, sarcasm, and forgiveness. His soft demeanor, funny slang, kind heart, and easy-going personality will be remembered. He truly left a lasting impression on so many.
As Dad would say, “Time to burn out!” Until we’re together again! We love you.
“Bye, yep, bye, bye”
Scott is loved tremendously and will be greatly missed by his family, his daughters, Jesseca Pruszinske, Jennifer (Dane) Campidilli, and Julia (Dustin) Guenther; grandchildren Hunter, Haylee, Lincoln, and Vaeda, step-grandson Sam, sisters Lisa (Kyan), Jean, and brother Wayne, and many other living family and friends.
Scott was greeted in Heaven by his parents, William and Elizabeth Pruszinske.
