Roger Mills

Roger Mills, age 85, passed away on May 13, 2026 surrounded by the love and memories of family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:30 - 3:00 PM with Military Honors at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant St SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372. Roger will be laid to rest at Corinthian Cemetery in Farmington, MN.

Roger was born on January 31, 1941, in Granite Falls to Jack and Edna Roe Virginia (Skaug) Mills. He was the second oldest of seven children and grew up alongside his siblings: Jack Jr., Sylvia, Donna Jean, Tom, Syvilla and Danny.

Roger proudly served his country in the Army for four years as a radio mechanic and served in Korea. Following his military service, he returned to Minnesota and began working at Spartans Discount Mart, where he met the love of his life, Cindy. The two were married on June 29, 1968, and built a life together filled with love and family. Over the years they made homes in Bloomington, Farmington, and eventually Rosemount. Together they raised two sons, Stephen and David.

Roger found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his grandsons, Dalton and Dylan, who brought him immense pride and happiness. He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, building cabinets, and watching classic Westerns. He also had a special bond with his beloved dog, Junior.

While living at Friendship Manor, Roger especially enjoyed playing BINGO, attending entertainment programs, and sharing stories about his grandsons and Junior with anyone willing to listen.

Roger is survived by his grandsons, Dalton and Dylan, along with many family members and friends who will cherish his memory and miss him dearly.
