It is with great sadness that the children of Robert Gilman Dybevik, known to his military friends as “Military Bob,” announce his passing at age 85 on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Left to mourn and share memories are his children: Brent Dybevik (Sue), Bradley (Brad) Dybevik, John (Jed) Dybevik, Tracy McNally, and Timothy (Tim) Dybevik. He is also survived by his brother Jim Dybevik, Coral Dybevik, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren with one more on the way, and one great-great-grandson.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fran Dybevik; his beloved wife, Mary Susan Dybevik; one son, Blake; one daughter, Julia; and his brother, Larry Dybevik.
Bob was born on November 26, 1940, in Blue Earth, Minnesota. He grew up and attended school in Austin, Minnesota. Bob was a proud U.S. Marine and a Freemason.
Bob enjoyed classical music, collecting automobiles, and hunting and fishing with his sons, grandsons, brothers, and friends. He especially enjoyed when his grandson Aaron took him fishing at the Veterans Fishing Events honoring veterans in northeastern Minnesota. Bob enjoyed many other activities and helping others throughout his lifetime.
A private ceremony will be held at Fort Snelling on Friday, February 27, 2026. Bob loved his family and friends and would like them to come together in celebration of his life at the Prior Lake VFW, 16306 Main Avenue SE, Prior Lake, MN, from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
We love you, Dad, and will miss you greatly.
