Robert “Bob” Scheeler was born in Litchfield, MN on June 25, 1954 to Paul and MaryAnn (Thissen) Scheeler. Raised in a farming community, he was the oldest of four children, siblings: Larry, Sherry and Gary. He worked on his parents’ farm and later on his grandparents’ farm milking cows and feeding chickens. During his teen years Bob worked in the family’s “Wunder Bar” in Darwin, MN.

After graduating from Dassel High School, Bob attended St. Cloud State University (SCSU), earning his BS in Business. He served on the SCSU Student Council and was President of Theta Chi Fraternity. After college, Bob spent a one-year internship with Northern Natural Gas in Omaha, Nebraska. While in Omaha, Bob made new life-long friends in the Catholic LaSalle Club, where he served on the “Membership Committee”. There, Bob met the love of his life, Linda. As he returned to MN, their long-distance courtship began and they married on June 12, 1982, in Omaha, Neb. They began their life together in Lonsdale, MN. Within four years, they welcomed three children: Jonathan, Maryann and Jennifer. In the fall of 1989 they settled into their forever home in Prior Lake.

Bob worked in the computer industry for Seagate Technology (formerly Control Data) for 28 years. He led a lean manufacturing team, working in R&D, guest lecturing statistics classes at St. Thomas University and traveling Europe, Asia, & Mexico, for many years to train new employees in his field. Linda joined him on several trips, visiting England and Ireland together. Bob and Linda would frequently provide hospitality to international team members, hosting them for dinner.

Family life and activities ranged from scouting, to music lessons, sports, church and volunteering in numerous capacities. Bob’s passion was to help people and the community. He volunteered at McKenna Crossing, St. Mike’s Families Moving Forward, and Faith Formation, among other ministries. Each April, Bob worked away completing friends’ taxes simply because he enjoyed it. For 20 years, he was a staple at the Renaissance Festival selling his friend’s pottery. Bob & Linda spent many summers volunteering at Teddy Roosevelt National Park, in Medora, N.D. Together, they travelled, exploring the Western US, hiking and camping along the way. Frequently visiting south Florida over the past decade, he & Linda had their own community of friends, many through different Catholic Churches. Bob “never met a stranger”.

Bob was a beloved, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Bob welcomed each grandchild, by offering to “move in” to take care of them as infants. His family was his greatest “joy,” and he advocated for everyone. He treasured his siblings and was a proud, protective big brother. For over 45 years he traveled back and forth to Omaha, thoroughly enjoying his visits with extended family and friends to celebrate holidays, special occasions, and events. Active in his men’s prayer groups and Cursillo group, he enjoyed coffee and fellowship, he treasured his friends, listened intently, offered advice, & united in prayer. Bob always put God first and his faith never wavered. He will be profoundly missed by family and friends. His warm smile, stories and charismatic, infectious personality will live on in our memories. We’re comforted with thoughts of him dancing in heaven: teaching the angels how to disco and do the robot, reconnecting with family who have gone before him, making new friends and continuing to watch over us from above as he always has.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Lazure) Scheeler; his children, Jonathan (Amy) Scheeler, Maryann (Doug) Hennen, Jennifer Scheeler (Chris Hawkinson); 6 grandchildren, Adalynn, Everly, Owen, Isabelle, Gavin, Lilah; his siblings, Sherry Scheeler (Barry Berggren), Gary Scheeler (Marj Williams), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Paul and MaryAnn (Thissen) Scheeler, and brother, Larry Paul Scheeler.
