Rita Marie Boller

Rita Boller, age 83, of Prior Lake, MN, passed peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Rivers of Life Enhanced Senior Living, in Savage, MN.

A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 10 am -1 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, with a reception to follow. Rita will be laid to rest at a private family burial at Credit River Cemetery, in Prior Lake, MN.

Joseph and Albina (Maxa) Tuma proudly announced the birth of their daughter, Rita Marie, born on May 1, 1942, in New Prague, MN. The third of four children, she also grew up in New Prague attending school and graduated. Shortly after, she married James Boller on May 6, 1961, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, in St Patrick, MN.

The newlyweds made the Prior Lake community their home. Rita and Jim eventually moved to a 3-acre hobby farm, before moving south of town to 10-acres. It was on the hobby farms; Rita was able to enjoy and embrace county living once again. She loved raising and nurturing her love of animals, especially horses. Rita even fostered dogs for many years. After Jim’s passing on November 13, 1991, she moved into town where she remained active in the community.

Rita and Jim were blessed with three children, Tammy, Jamie and Jeff. As the children grew up, she worked various jobs, but motherhood was her greatest accomplishment. Rita and Jim even opened their doors to foster many children along the way. Eventually, she became the grandma to three adoring grandchildren, Cody, Kasey and Ryan. Rita was so proud of them and who they became in life.

A country girl through and through, Rita loved to look stylish in her country flare. In her earlier years, Rita loved garage sales in search of finding a good bargain. She loved to dance and socialize with friends and family. Rita lived a good life! She was kind and loving yet had a feisty and strong personality.

Rita will remain in the hearts of those children she loved, Tammy (Tom) Schewe, Jamie Boller, Jeff (Jodi) Boller; grandchildren, Cody Boller, Kasey Boller, Ryan Boller; brother, Stanley (Ann) Tuma; many other loving relatives and friends.

Greeting Rita home in Heaven is her loving husband, Jim Boller; parents, Joseph and Albina Tuma; brothers, Bernie Tuma, and Ron Tuma.
