Peter K. Pearson

Peter K. Pearson, age 59, passed away on June 23, 2026. A Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM followed by a prayer service at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 2026 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (833 S. Marschall Rd.) in Shakopee, MN.

Peter was born on April 7, 1967, in Shakopee, Minnesota, to Eugene and Marion Pearson. He grew up in Jordan and attended school in Lydia. He was the youngest of seven boys and cherished his family throughout his life. He loved visiting his brothers and their families, spending time in their homes, and sharing stories and laughter. Family was always important to him, and he brought joy wherever he went.

Peter enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. He was a bit of a foodie who loved going out to eat, especially at Culver’s and Dairy Queen. He never passed up a good soda and enjoyed having a beer now and then. He was a devoted fan of professional wrestling, especially WWE, and loved watching cartoons. Peter also enjoyed biking, bowling with his Special Olympics team, going to the movies, shopping, writing, jig saw puzzles and coloring with markers. He had a colorful sense of style and liked to dress a little flashy.

Peter worked at Pizza Hut in Lakeville, where he proudly earned a reputation as the best box folder around, which he learned from years of living and working at his family’s business The Pearson Greenhouse. Peter enjoyed working and participating in his day programs New Options and Proact where he enjoyed fun activities and adventures.

As a young man, he moved into the Shakopee Chateau, where he formed lasting friendships and shared many years with the same close group of buddies. A loyal Minnesota Twins fan, Peter loved attending games and cheering on his team. He also enjoyed staying active by walking on the treadmill every day. Among his most treasured possessions were his stuffed plushies, especially SpongeBob and Bucky, who were always close by.

Peter was known for his cheerful spirit and infectious smile. At St. Gertrude’s, he was often described as an ambassador because everyone knew him and loved him. He greeted people with enthusiasm, a thumbs-up, and his favorite sayings: “Who, Me?”, “Gotcha!”, and “What’s Up?” He loved making people laugh, sometimes with a playful tickle, and had a gift for brightening someone’s day. His happiness, kindness, and friendly nature made him unforgettable to all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving family, many friends, and countless people whose lives were touched by his warmth, humor, and joyful outlook on life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the smiles he shared, the friendships he treasured, and the happiness he brought to everyone around him.

Peter is survived by his brothers, Joseph (Carol), Louis (Nancy), Andrew, and Mark; sister-in-law, Vanessa Pearson; nieces and nephews, River (Megan), Tim (Marie), Tony, Eric (Emily), Brian (Dani), Dylan, Eleanor, and Signe; many great-nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and friends; and his special friends Greg, Paul, Patrick.

Peter was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Eugene and Marion Pearson; his brothers, Victor, Claude, (infant brother) John Paul; sister-in-law, Jill Pearson; and nephew, Michael Pearson.
