Patrick "Pugsley" Sames

Patrick “Pugsley” Sames, 74, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a 9½-year battle with cancer. Born and raised in Jordan, Minnesota, Patrick was the second oldest of six children and grew up surrounded by family, life-long friends, laughter, and the bonds that would shape his life.

A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 11:00 AM with Time of Gathering from 9:30 - 10:45 AM on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant St SE, Prior Lake, MN. Father Tom Walker will preside. Patrick will be laid to rest at St. Mary's of Marystown Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be donated in honor of Patrick.

Patrick served his country honorably in the United States Army, including a tour in the Vietnam War in 1971 and continued his service until 1977. Following his military service, he worked as a dedicated machinist for Graco for 25 years.

A headstrong and stubborn man with a great sense of humor, Patrick loved to joke around and bring smiles to those around him. He had a passion for woodworking, classic cars and car shows, fishing, and traveling with his family. He especially enjoyed road trips and sightseeing, making lasting memories wherever he went. Patrick loved a long cruise in one of his classic cars.

On August 26, 1983, Patrick married Margaret, sharing more than four decades of love, laughter, and family adventures together. Patrick and Margaret had three children, Ryan, Beth and Allison. Later on came five grandchildren which Patrick adored and enjoyed spending time with. Patrick leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories for the entire family.

Patrick’s life was one of service, devotion, and joy. He will be remembered for being a loyal and supportive friend, his quick-witted sense of humor, his determination, and his love for his family and friends.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; children, Ryan (Emilee) Sames, Beth (Daniel Gonzalez) Sames, Allison (Kyle) Howk; grandchildren, Summer and James Sames, Collin, Claire, and Brynley Howk; siblings, James (Laurie) Sames, Tom Sames, Rose (Barry) Ullmann, and Debbie Gosse; other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Bernice Sames; sister, Betty Ann Sames; siblings-in-law, Barbie Sames, Dan Gosse.
