O. Dale Stadstad

O. Dale Stadstad, age 76, of Prior Lake, MN, passed away on July 31, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A Christian Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (5634 Luther Rd SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372). Pastor Tom Trapp will preside. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Prior Lake.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred and will be donated to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in honor of Dale.

Dale was born in Manvel, ND on August 11, 1949 to George Stadstad and Thelma “Sandy” Sandaker.

Dale graduated Montgomery High School in 1967. Dale attending NDSCS – Wahpeton College of Sciences in 1969, finishing his degree. On September 20th, 1969, Dale married the love of his life, Linda, in Montgomery, MN, and they built their lives together. Dale and Linda were blessed with two children, Sheila and Darren.

In 1970, Dale started his lifetime career as a Computer/Test Engineer of Aerospace, working for Honeywell for 42 years before his eventual retirement.

Dale lived an active life with his family, camping, snowmobiling, fishing, and especially sailing. He loved sailing on Lake Superior and spent 22 years living in Bayfield, serving on the Town House Board while he was there. They owned two sailboats and spent as much time on the water as they could. Dale also loved classic cars and was involved in car clubs, showing off his 57 T Bird proudly. He was a master of all trades, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, auto, and of course, boat. He could build or fix anything.

Dale always made time for his community and church despite all his hobbies and active life. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prior Lake for many years, serving as church treasurer, head usher, Thrivent foundation treasurer, and on the board of trustees. His faith and community were always a priority.

Dale will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Linda; daughter, Sheila (Nathan) Horn; son, Darren (Amy) Stadstad; grandchildren, Samantha (Nick), Benjamin, Allison, and Gretchen; great grandchildren, Clare and Maxwell; brothers, Terry (Muriel) Stadstad and David (Gwen) Stadstad; and other loving family and friends.

He will be reunited in heaven with his father, George Stadstad; and mother, Sandy Hajney and Step-Father George Hajney.
