A Visitation for Nancy will be held from 4:00 - 6:00pm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, MN. A Christian Funeral will be held at 11:00am with an additional visitation from 10:00 - 11:00am on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Fish Lake, 20200 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake, MN. Rev. Dr. Brent Parrish will preside. Nancy will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Nancy Lea Anderson-Jasmer was born on August 3, 1952, in Manhattan, Kansas, to Helen and Wayne Anderson. She spent her childhood in Canby, Minnesota, where she attended Canby schools and participated in the high school band, playing the trombone. Nancy was the middle child, with an older brother, Alan, and a younger sister, Diane. True to the middle-child role, she was a natural peacemaker and caretaker from an early age.
Nancy met David Anderson in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. They were married in 1973 and traveled from Texas to Montana during David’s service in the U.S. Air Force. They welcomed their son, Shawn, in 1978; tragically, he passed away at just nine months old. Their daughter, Chelsie, was born in 1980. Nancy embraced motherhood wholeheartedly and doted on her daughter. Nancy and David later divorced in 1981. Several years afterward, Nancy and Chelsie moved to Chaska, Minnesota, where they made their home.
Nancy devoted her career to the healthcare field, working in administrative patient care. She served for many years as a patient care coordinator with Deaconess Health in Great Falls, Montana, and later with Univita Health in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, from where she retired. Her compassionate nature and innate desire to care for others made healthcare a perfect fit.
In the winter of 1997, Nancy met Doug Jasmer. They enjoyed coffee dates, movies, motorcycle rides, and attending church services together. They were married on September 28, 2001, in a small ceremony at Fish Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church. Saturday evening services were often followed by dinner at Z’s, a tradition they cherished. Though their children were adults, Nancy and Doug blended their families with love and spent meaningful time together, especially during the holidays. Nancy especially glowed when her grandchildren were nearby—she took great pride in their accomplishments and loved attending their activities and events.
Nancy had a keen sense of fashion and enjoyed thrifting, art fairs, and shopping in small, eclectic stores. She was a passionate supporter of local artists. Each summer, she spent time in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with her daughter, savoring the quiet pace, local art scene, and cozy coffee shops. Nancy was a gifted listener, a quality that led her to volunteer with hospice patients after her retirement.
Family and faith were cornerstones of Nancy’s life. Her kindness, gentle encouragement, and caring words are remembered by many.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Doug Jasmer; daughter, Chelsie Anderson; stepdaughters Tara (Mark) Lund and Jil (Shaan) Lovaas; grandchildren Tyler Lund, Morgan Lund, Gaabriel Lovaas, and Grace Lovaas; and siblings Alan Anderson and Diane Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Helen Anderson; her son, Shawn; brother-in-law Wayne Johnson; sister-in-law Margaret Anderson; brother-in-law Curt Jasmer; and her parents-in-law, Delbert and Irene Jasmer.
