Myron Dean Nerdahl, age 80, of Savage, Minnesota, passed away on October 8th, at The Meadows Senior Living Facility in Savage, Minnesota
Myron Nerdahl was born September 5, 1946, in Montevideo, Minnesota, to Floyd Jennings Nerdahl and Lena (Hermanson) Nerdahl. He was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo, Minnesota in October of 1946 and confirmed in May, 1961. Myron grew up in Granite Falls, Minnesota and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1965.
He was drafted into the Army in 1965 with basic training in Fort Bliss and then to serve in our country in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1967.
On May 12, 1972, he married Shelley J. Hreha. They eventually made their home in Maple Grove, Minnesota where they lived for 40+ years and raised two children.
Myron is survived by his wife Shelley; children: Auria/Andrew (Jennifer) Nerdahl, Matthew (Amy Van Gundy) Nerdahl; 2 grandchildren: William Nerdahl and Bennett Nerdahl; a sister Kay Zemple from Granite Falls and two nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lena Nerdahl and several cousins.
Myron attended North Hennepin Community College and then transferred to St. Thomas College. He graduated from St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business in December of 1977. Myron started work at Fischer Nut Company in sales. From there he worked at Person's Candy and various food brokerages selling candy and confectionary items. He ended his career with Key Sales where he was part owner of the brokerage.
He delighted in fishing and hunting, and golfing with his friends. He particularly enjoyed the fishing and hunting with his life-long friends. He had a loving bond with his dogs. He enjoyed his time with the Maple Grove VFW where he had friends and appreciated the volunteer opportunities. Myron particularly enjoyed the woodworking and the Nordic Walking groups at Maple Grove Community Center.
Myron belonged to a running group through the YMCA where he met some wonderful friends who he continued to meet for coffee. He also ran half marathons and participated in the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon in Duluth eight times.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor and memory of Myron Nerdahl.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one-hour prior at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant St. SE) in Prior Lake. Myron will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a private family interment.
