Marilyn E. Anderson, 95, of Bloomington, passed away on August 13, 2025. Celebration of Life will be held for her at 11:00am service with a visitation from 10am - 10:45am on August 22, 2025 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 8400 France Ave South, Bloomington. Marilyn will be buried at Elm Park Cemetery in Baudette, MN at a later date.
Marilyn was born in New Rockford, ND to parents Oswald and Alma Engh, and grew up in Baudette, Minnesota. Her summers were spent at the family cabin along the Rainy River, where she helped in the large garden and had many outdoors adventures.
After graduating from Baudette High School, Marilyn attended the Deaconess School of Nursing in Grand Forks, ND. She began her career as a pediatric nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. There, she found meaningful work caring for children.
While working in Minneapolis, she met her husband Paul Anderson, and they married in 1956. Together, they had two daughters, Kim and Kerry. They moved around from the Twin Cities to Chicago to Hopkins before settling in Bloomington, MN, where they lived for many years.
She was a supportive and involved mother and grandmother, serving as a Camp Fire Girls leader, volunteering at school, and always present for her children’s various activities. Marilyn had a passion for capturing memories through pictures and created personalized photo albums for each of her grandchildren. Outside the home, she was active in her church, enjoyed playing bridge, and spent time sailing with Paul.
Marilyn will be remembered by her family for her loving personality and passion for caring for others. She is survived by her daughters, Kerry (Steve) Brubaker, Kim (Chris) Stewart; grandchildren, Hannah Brubaker, Gabrielle (Alex) Arseneau, Katie (Griffin Henjum) Stewart, Kendall Stewart; great grandchildren, Elsie Arseneau and Anderson Arseneau; sister, Helen Rolloff; and many other loving relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Anderson; grandson, Adam Stewart; parents Oswald and Alma Engh; brothers, Robert (Heli) Engh, Randy (Dorothy)Engh; sister, Margaret (Bernard) Morton; and brother-in-law, Bruce Rolloff.
