Magdalen "Maddie" A. Lambrecht

Magdalen Angela Lambrecht, daughter of John Leo and Emma Margaretha (Moes) Sieben was born on May 1, 1929, in Hampton, MN. She passed from this earthly life on April 23, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital, Shakopee, MN. Maddie will be laid to rest next to Harold on Friday, May 2, 2025 with 9 am – 11 am visitation at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (313 2nd Street East, Jordan, MN) followed by Mass at 11:00 AM, and internment at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan. Father Neil Bakker will preside. Lunch to follow in church basement.

She lived in New Trier and then Hastings where she graduated from Hastings High School on May 29, 1947. Maddie married Harold Alex Lambrecht on April 15, 1950, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. When asked how she met Harold, she always said they “met in a revolving door and had been going around ever since.” They actually met at a dance and danced thru life together.

While Maddie was busy raising four children, she often cooked banquets at the Hub and worked for funeral lunches for many years. She also counted Sunday collections for many years, had an adoration hour for many years and headed up her hour for years. She helped at the blood bank many years, was chair for the Fall Festival Candy Booth for years and was a communion minister for many years. She also did house cleaning for several clients. She loved God, her family and her church.

Maddie was an avid sheepshead and card player all her life. Her other past times included: gardening, canning, cooking, knitting and doing embroidery work. Her favorite thing to do for many years was fishing with the family at Lake Nokay near Brainerd. There was always the Last Bass competition, which she usually won as you could not drag her off the lake until she caught the last bass of the night.

She loved to travel with Harold, their polka dance group and her children. In her later years, she enjoyed just sitting outdoors visiting with her wonderful neighbors. Her best friend in later years was her iPad as that kept her connected to family and friends and allowed her to play her favorite casino games.

Left to honor her are her four children: Gene (Debbie) Lambrecht; Joyce (Paul) Echols; Dennis Lambrecht and Bob (Carla) Lambrecht. She has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Welcoming her into her heavenly home are husband Harold, a baby boy, parents John and Emma and sisters: Rosemary, Ann, Monica and brother Ray.
