Leon "Lonnie" George Stately Jr.

Leon G. Stately Jr. (Lonnie), age 60, of Savage, MN, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, after a recent illness at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN.

A Gathering in Remembrance of Lonnie will be held at 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday May 8th, 2026, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE., Prior Lake, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Saturday May 9th, 2026 St. Michael Catholic Church 16400 Duluth Ave SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372. Father Tom Walker will preside.

Lonnie was born to Leon George Stately Sr. (Galvy) and Vera M. Stately (Goben) on Monday, April 25, 1966, in Red Lake, MN.

Lonnie will be missed by many. He was known for his impressions and comedy routines. He had a great sense of humor and loved animals and motorcycles, and he enjoyed driving fast cars. He once drove his Corvette from Los Angeles, CA, to Minneapolis, MN, in record time. The Nevada State Patrol even helped get his car out of the desert.

Lonnie is survived by the love of his life of 31 years, Marilyn Mead; his mother, Vera M. Stately (Goben); his son, Devon Stately of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren, Jonathan Matykiewies, McKenzie Bystrom, and Alexis Bystrom; his siblings, Vicki Stately, Andrea Jourdain, Jesslynn Dumont, Honna Stately, Gary Stately, and Jerel Stately; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friend, Kingsley Palacio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon G. Stately Sr. (Galvy); his sister, Georgia L. Stately Beaulieu; his grandparents; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his favorite dog, “Buckeye.”
