Kenneth “Mickey” Wilbur Magee, age 90, of Prior Lake, MN, passed away August 30, 2025, surrounded by family after a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM with Visitation from 10:00 – 10:45 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16400 Duluth Ave SE, Prior Lake. Father Tom Walker will preside. Ken will be laid to rest at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Prior Lake.
Ken was born on September 20, 1934, in Three Rivers, Massachusetts, to William and Lottie Magee. He grew up in the Palmer, Massachusetts, area where he attended Palmer High School and played basketball, along with many summer days spent in pickup baseball games.
Following high school, Ken proudly served his country for four years in the United States Navy, where he was stationed aboard the USS Tills and the USS Otterstetter.
On Labor Day weekend in Chicago, fate intervened when a 17-year-old Angeline (Angie) Leisdon and her girlfriends walked into a Walgreen’s soda shop and met two young sailors. Angie struck up a conversation with Ken, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. The two were married on July 11, 1959, in Alexandria, Minnesota, and shared 66 beautiful years together.
Ken and Angie built a family full of love and joy. They raised four children: Tom (Kate), John (Lisa), Tony (Sheri), and Mary Ann. Their family grew to include seven grandchildren—Ryan (Lauren), Mary Kate, Daniel, Christopher, Timothy, Audrey, and Connor—and two great-grandchildren.
Ken worked for over 30 years at Eaton Corporation as a precision grinding machinist, where his attention to detail and inventive mind served him well. He was always coming up with creative solutions to household challenges, proudly testing out his “inventions”—some of which even worked.
Family and travel were central to Ken’s life. When his children were young, he loved camping trips and long road adventures with everyone piled in the back of the van. Later in life, he and Angie enjoyed time at their Florida timeshare with family, as well as many cruises together—Hawaii being a favorite destination. At home, he enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, always with a smile and a jovial spirit.
Ken will be remembered by friends and loved ones as fun-loving, kind, and quick to laugh—a man whose presence could light up a room and who was known by many as a favorite uncle.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Tom; parents, William and Lottie; and siblings, Ronald, Dorothy, Fern, and Nancy.
Ken’s legacy of love, humor, and joy will live on in his wife Angie, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him.
