Kathy Weber

Kathyrn L. Weber, 77, of Prior Lake, MN passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 after a long battle with kidney disease. A Celebration of Life honoring Kathy will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Prior Lake VFW, 16306 Main Ave SE, Prior Lake, MN. She will be laid to rest at St. Michael’s Cemetery during a private family gathering.

Kathy was born on July 30, 1948, to Wemer and Della Weber. She was the sixth of seven children and grew up on the family farm in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

She attended St. Michael’s Catholic School and graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1966. Kathy made many lifelong friends during her school years and stayed connected with them through class reunions and other gatherings.

In the early 1980s, Kathy moved to Apple Valley, where she lived for more than 30 years. In 2017, she returned to Prior Lake to be closer to family and moved into The Grainwood Senior Community, where she quickly made many good friends. She spent her final year at The Gardens in Shakopee, where her circle of friends grew once again.

Kathy worked for 40 years as a parts assembler at Control Data Corporation, later Seagate. She spent many years working in the “clean room” assembling hard drives. She also proudly represented the company at events such as the Minnesota State Fair. After leaving Seagate, she worked part-time at Arby’s in Savage. She also found great joy in assisting her niece Kara in her home daycare.

Family was always at the center of Kathy’s life. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, taking them on fun outings to places like Valley Fair, the zoo, and company picnics. She never missed a birthday, holiday, or special occasion, always helping to make celebrations memorable.

Kathy loved to bake cookies and make crafts. Her home was always decorated for every season and holiday. She enjoyed traveling and took a few trips to California and Las Vegas. Kathy had fun visiting local casinos and often had good luck. One time she even won a car!

Kathy also liked to take pictures. She acted as the family photographer. Her camera was always in hand to capture the people and moments she loved most.

She will be remembered for her independence, her fun sense of humor, and her gift for making friends wherever she went. We will always think of Kathy with her joyful smile and a can of Diet Pepsi nearby.

Kathy’s memory will be cherished by her family. She is survived by her sister, Mary Counter; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Barb Weber, and Joe and Carol Weber; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends who will remember her with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wemer and Della (Friehl) Weber; her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Wayne Doheny; her brother, Bill Weber; her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Judy (Oman) Weber; her brothers-in-law, Dick Cervenka and George Counter; and her nieces, Teresa (Weber) Maciejewski and Chris Weber.
