Kathleen "Kathy" Stemig

Kathleen “Kathy” Stemig, 86, of Jordan passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 30th, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan (313 Second Street) at 11 AM. Prior to Mass, there will be a visitation from 9:30-10:45 AM. Kathy will be laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Jordan. Father Neil Bakker will preside over services.

On September 22, 1938, Kathy was born in Mitchell, SD to William and Johanna Budde. She was brought home to the family’s home in Woonsocket, South Dakota where she would spend her early years with her sister. After graduating from high school, she moved to St. Paul where she worked for Dun and Bradstreet. During this time, she met her future husband, Ralph, at a dance being held at the Prom Ballroom. The pair were married on October 22, 1966.

Kathy was an avid gardener that especially loved her rose and raspberry bushes. When she wasn't tending her garden, Kathy volunteered her time at St. John the Baptist in Jordan. Her strong roots in her faith were a large part of her life.

Kathy is survived by her sister; Marge (Bob) Regal; and many other loving nieces, nephews, friends and family members. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Stemig; and parents, William and Johanna Budde.
