Judeen Kay (Stahman) Kjeldahl passed away peacefully in God’s loving arms on June 25, 2026, after facing long-term health challenges with incredible strength and faith.
A Time of Gathering will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant St SE) in Prior Lake, MN. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM with additional gathering time from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church (3611 Berens Rd NW) in Prior Lake, MN.
Born in Morris, MN on April 10, 1943, Judeen married Jerry Kjeldahl on August 4, 1962, sharing nearly 64 years of marriage. In 1971, they moved to their lake home on Prior Lake to raise their four daughters. Judeen loved lake life—fishing, boating, and sharing her incredible green thumb while tending to her beautiful backyard. Though she never swam, she made sure all her girls were strong swimmers! One of her greatest joys was watching her daughters and grandchildren in their activities and sporting events.
Judeen's creativity in sewing and calligraphy beautifully showcased her husband's fabric business. Her daughters were blessed to have her create their wedding gowns, and she crafted her grandchildren’s baptismal gowns. A Camp Fire leader and active in her church, Judeen taught Bible school and Confirmation, always the first to volunteer or lend a helping hand. She also hand-made the beautiful banners hanging at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church. After raising her girls, she was a proud employee at Dayton’s. Her favorite pastime was cooking and baking; she loved holiday celebrations surrounded by family with full, planned menus. Judeen was known for her attention to detail, quiet demeanor, generous spirit, and love for animals—nursing countless wild creatures and beloved dogs back to health. Through severe pain in her final years, she taught her family how to love God, be courageous, and never give up. Special thanks to the faithful family and friends who visited, called, and sent cards. It meant the world to her!
Judeen loved her family fiercely. She is survived by and missed by her husband, Jerry Kjeldahl; daughters, Jeri Kay (Steve) Prochaska, Julie (John) Kabboord, Jayme (Ken) Zylstra, Joni (Tim) Stark; grandchildren, Dena Kay (Rick) Thurston, Kevynn (Matt) Livingston, Danny (Chase) Zeller, Bria (Ryley) Vossler, Zoe Zylstra, Ruby Zylstra, Tony (Rachael) Stark, Sally Stark, and Sophie Stark; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Jude Livingston; siblings, Don Stahman, Diane (Dennis) Stroschein; and sister and best friend, Sandy Reimers; and other loving family and friends.
She will be reunited in Heaven with her parents, William and Elsie Stahman; and many beloved pets and animal friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spot's Last Stop Canine Rescue in honor of Judeen's love for rescuing animals. Please scan the QR code below to donate.
