Joan’s being was lived simply, yet full of what was most important to her…family! She was born Joan Martha Glynn on March 18, 1950, in New Prague, MN. She was the eighth of ten children raised in Jordan, MN, by Thomas and Wineta (Moldenhauer) Glynn. Joan attended St. John Catholic School through the Eighth Grade and completed her education graduating from Jordan High School.
While attending a baseball game at the Marystown ball field, Joan met one of the players, Joseph “Joe” Peter Friendshuh. They started dating and on May 26, 1972, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan, Joan and Joe exchanged wedding vows. They were blessed with two sons, Josh and Jesse. Many great adventures were spent as a family on the family trips up north. Later, Joan and Joe took trips to Alaska and visited family in Florida.
Joan focused on her life being a devoted wife and dedicated mom. She also worked for many years at Thermo King in assembly. But becoming a grandma to her grandsons, Wyatt and Waylon was Joan’s greatest accomplishment. She loved every minute being with them and celebrating each holiday with activities and food. In Joan’s eyes it was a great day to see Wyatt and Waylon!
After Joe passed away suddenly on April 29, 2011, Joan continued living and enjoyed traveling with her sisters to Branson, Missouri, Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, and taking her chance at the casinos. She liked exploring thrift stores and the Dollar Store, but was happiest at home, collecting angels, watching westerns, and admiring fall colors.
Joan will be forever loved and missed by her sons, Josh (Maria) Friendshuh, Jesse Friendshuh; grandsons, Wyatt Friendshuh, Waylon Friendshuh; siblings, Donna (Duane) Molde, Veronica Richards, Patricia Oldenburg, Sharon Berry, John (Jean) Glynn, Richard (Carmen) Glynn, Nancy (Steve) Kipp; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Moline; brother-in-law, Lester Tagtow; other relatives and friends.
Greeting Joan home in Heaven is her beloved husband, Joe; parents, Tom and Wineta Glynn; brother, Tom Glynn; sister, Dorothy Tagtow; brothers-in-law, Pete Oldenburg, Gayle Berry and Richard Veselka.
