Donald E. Krueger

Donald E. Krueger, 78, of Prior Lake, passed away on May 14, 2025. A Christian Funeral will be held for Donny on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Mt. Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church (12700 Marystown Rd) in Shakopee at 11 AM with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Stelljes will be presiding over services. Donny will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.

Donald Edward was born in Minneapolis, MN and adopted at 16 months old by the Krueger family and raised in Sleepy Eye, MN. He grew up alongside his siblings, Dennis and Arlene, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime.

Donny proudly served his country in the Army, where he spent time in Germany and discovered his passion for ballroom dancing. After his military service, Donny married Evie and had two sons Ryan and Nate. He was the Mayor of Priam, MN for a short time and he dedicated 20 years of his career as a sheet metal worker to Centraire. He was known for his exceptional work ethic and warm personality. He was admired not only for his craftsmanship but also for his ability to make everyone around him feel at ease. He enjoyed rendezvous camping with his family, participating in 1800-period black powder reenactments. After many years Donny and Evie went their separate ways.

Donny’s passion for ballroom dancing led him to meet Janice 23 years ago and they married on September 22, 2007, and lovingly spent many joyful years attending ballroom dance events, cruising in his classic square-body Chevy truck, and creating memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them.

Donny and Jan were active members of Mount Olive Church, where Donny found joy in entertaining babies and young children, spreading smiles and laughter wherever he went. His kindhearted spirit and genuine warmth made him a cherished presence in the lives of his family, friends, and community.

Donny will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.

Donny will be missed by his loving wife, Janice Krueger; son, Nate (Tracy); stepdaughters, Jennifer (Daniel) Fisher, Elizabeth (Rodney) Weber; grandchildren, Cole, Courtney, and Tina Krueger; step-grandchildren, Madelyn, Dollie, Damien, and Douglas and Sasha Weber; brother, Dennis (Janice) Krueger; and other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son, Ryan Krueger; parents, Leonard and Ruth Krueger; and sister, Arlene Krueger.
