Darlene A. Hasch

Darlene A. Hasch, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 17, 2025, while at her home in Prior Lake, MN. Her life focused on having deep faith and always being surrounded by her loving family. Darlene’s caring heart, genuine soul and unconditional love will remain in those lives she connected with forever.

A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 4-6 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, with an additional gathering on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 9:30-10:45 am, followed by a celebration of life at 11 am, at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, 3611 North Berens Road NW, Prior Lake. Pastor Jonathan Rundman will preside.

Gracing this world on July 12, 1944, in Pipestone, MN, Darlene Anne was born to Donald and Alvera (Zeinstra) Klingbile. She was the older sister to Donny and Dennis growing up most of her years in Verdi, MN.

While in high school, Darlene was introduced to Gary Hasch on a blind date through mutual friends. They started courting and shortly after she graduated, Darlene and Gary married on June 2, 1962, at Holland Presbyterian Church, in Holland, MN. They spent exactly 60 years to the day raising their children, Michael, Michelle, and Monica and making many great memories together, before Gary passed away on June 2, 2022.

The Hasch family first settled in Minneapolis, MN, before moving to the Prior Lake area, where they established a loving and open home. As a family, they took many road trips visiting their family in Rapid City, SD and in Pipestone. Darlene and Gary would pack up the family and off they would go camping, especially to Waterville and Mille Lacs. Their fondest trip was exploring the west coast for several weeks. In later years, Darlene and Gary enjoyed spending time during the winter in Hawaii with friends.

After her children started school, Darlene re-entered the work force. She spent over 20 years working for the Prior Lake School District and Food Services. Darlene loved the students' smiles. Never wanting to see any student go hungry for the day, it was common for her to lend a ticket so they could get lunch. It was Darlene’s kind and approachable smile that made their lunch time enjoyable. Even after retiring, she was still substituting just to see the children’s smiling faces.

Darlene valued her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She maintained close relationships with all her family offering support, love and involvement in their lives. Darlene had the perfect mix of spoiling them on her terms but knew when to stop to keep them on the straight and narrow. Darlene was blessed to be able to form an unbreakable bond with each grandchild and great grandchild, who appreciated their relationship and time spent with her.

Life for Darlene would have not been possible without her strong faith. She and Gary were heavily involved with Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church throughout their lives. Darlene welcomed others without reservation, accepted people as they were, and formed new friendships with anyone who crossed her path. Her closet was fully stocked with a gift for any age and any occasion, her table ready to feed those that sat down knowing great conversations and laughter were to follow.

Carrying on the legacy of Darlene will be her children, Michael (Rhonda) Hasch, Michelle (Joerg) Feuchtinger, Monica Hasch; grandchildren, Tayla (Nik Finley) Hasch, Hannah Hasch, Devin Hoffman, Rachael Knoblauch, Braysen Knoblauch, Angel Roesch, Sadie Roesch, Tristan Roesch; great-granddaughters, Nora Finley, Claire Finley, Lucy Roesch; brothers, Donny (Joy) Klingbile, Dennis (Diana) Klingbile; other relatives and friends.

Greeting Darlene home in Heaven is her beloved husband, Gary and parents Donald and Alvera Klingbile.
