Danny "Dan" C. Akright

Danny Charles Akright, 74, of Lindstrom, formerly of Maplewood, passed away on April 2, 2026, after an extended illness, with his beloved son by his side.

He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Harry and Eileen Akright, who preceded him in death.

Danny is survived by his son, Michael Akright; daughter-in-law, Christa Akright; granddaughter, Vaida Akright; grand-dog, Lola, whom he frequently referred to as his “Smoochies”; and Michael’s mother, Jenney Franco.

Danny retired from the State of Minnesota P.E.R.A. He was an introspective and quiet man who enjoyed puttering around, going to flea markets and thrift shops, and riding his bike around the neighborhood. He loved watching the Packers play, especially when they were beating the Vikings, and most of all, he cherished simply spending time with his son, Mike.

Dan was also an animal lover and frequently donated to the ASPCA. In lieu of flowers or cards, memorials are preferred to Northwoods Humane Society in Wyoming, Minnesota.

He will be greatly missed by his son and family.
