On October 20, 2025, the world lost a truly remarkable woman, Cheryl Ann (Doerr) Wendorff. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children—Paul, Brian, and Julie. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, Cheryl touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

Cheryl was born in Shakopee, Minnesota, on April 2, 1951. She spent her early years in Marystown, where she fondly helped her Grandpa Doerr at his local store. In 1957, her family moved to Jordan, where Cheryl and her six siblings—Bob, Connie, Gary, Mark, Mary Kaye, and Margaret—grew up. It was in Jordan that Cheryl met the love of her life, Ken Wendorff, and together they built a family filled with love and adventure.

Cheryl and Ken married in 1970 and embarked on a journey of togetherness that took them to Braham, MN. There, they raised their three children—Paul, Brian, and Julie—creating a home filled with laughter and memories. Cheryl’s life was centered around her family, and she found joy in supporting her children. A dedicated professional, she made her mark at Fingerhut while also serving as her children’s biggest cheerleader, attending every school event and activity she could. Throughout her life, Cheryl forged lasting, unbreakable friendships, and her kindness was a gift to all who knew her.

The next chapter of Cheryl’s life brought both joy and sorrow, but she navigated it with grace; she became both a grandmother and shortly after a widow. While facing the loss of her beloved husband, Ken, her love for her grandchildren became even stronger. Bailey, Christopher, Ava, Sophia, and Zoe had a special place in her heart. Despite the challenges, Cheryl continued to find joy in life, often traveling with friends and family. Though she had traveled the various parts of the world, there was one place that always brought her peace—the beach. Cheryl was a lifelong lover of crafts, with a particular passion for sewing. In her later years, she dedicated herself to creating beautiful quilts, and she became a true artist, transforming simple materials into stunning works of art. Her talent and creativity were unmatched.

Above all, Cheryl was known for her ability to connect with others. Her heart was always open, and she had an extraordinary gift for making people feel supported. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Cheryl will be missed by her children, Paul (Melanie) Wendorff, Brian (Ramona) Wendorff, and Julie Paulsen; grandchildren, Ava and Zoe Wendorff, Sophia Wendorff, Bailey and Christopher Paulsen; siblings, Connie (Russ) Yorek, Mark (Pam) Doerr, Mary Kaye (Richard) Doerr-Thom, Margaret (Patrick) Sames; and other loving family and friends.

She will be reunited in heaven with her husband of 38 years, Ken Wendorff; parents; brother, Bob (Mary Ann) Doerr and Gary Doerr.
