Charles D. Foster

Charles “Chuck” Dominic Foster, age 86, passed away on June 3rd, 2025 surrounded by Father Tom Walker, his wife, Andrea and his son, Greg in his Prior Lake residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM with a Time of Gathering from 9:30 - 10:50 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church; 16400 Duluth Ave SE; Prior Lake, MN 55372. Father Tom Walker will preside. Chuck will be laid to rest at Credit River Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be donated by the family to the Mark Foster Scholarship Fund at St. Michael.

Charles was born on August 22, 1938 to Dean and Marie Foster in Minneapolis, MN. Chuck was the fourth oldest of seven siblings; having six sisters, Rita Foster, Shirley Rian, Sister Mary Ellen Foster, Susan Pumarlo, Jennifer Taylor, and Deanna Foster.

Charles started his career at Powers Department Stores as a shoe salesman, which led to becoming a traveling shoe salesman, which parlayed into Chuck and Andrea owning their own clothing and shoe store in Edina, then eventually supporting their son Greg by running multiple Rainbow Play System stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and South Dakota as well as multiple other showrooms in other states before retiring in 2015.

Chuck enjoyed going to MN Wild games, watching wrestling and boxing matches with his son Greg, fishing with his brothers-in-law, mowing the lawn on his John Deere tractor, and spending time as a family on multiple vacations to much warmer climates. As a couple, Chuck and Andrea traveled for years to their apartment in New York, their place in Palm Springs, Virginia for Garden Week, and Nantucket for the beach. He will be most remembered by his vice grip firm handshake and his good-natured humor. He truly was a “People Person” and anyone that met him fell in love with him! Lastly, and most importantly, Chuck was an avid collector of antique toys and toy soldiers. His collection is housed and showcased in a building in downtown Prior Lake.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Andrea Foster; son, C Gregory Foster; two cherished grandchildren, Garrett & Brooke Foster; sisters, Sister Mary Ellen Foster, Shirley Rian, Susan Pumarlo, Jennifer Taylor, and Deanna Foster; and other loving relatives and many dear friends.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his son, Mark Foster; parents, Dean and Marie; sister, Rita Foster; brothers-in-law, Arne Rian, Jon Pumarlo, and Ingo Metusalem.
