Brian was born on December 9, 1961, and grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Stewart, Minnesota, the oldest son of Maynard and LeAnn. He graduated from Stewart High School in 1980 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Mankato State University.
In 1997, Brian married the love of his life, Dinah, and together they raised triplet sons, Cole, Cameron, and Kyle, born in 1999. Family was always at the center of Brian’s life. He proudly cheered on his boys in all the sports they played and devoted many years to coaching basketball and baseball, where he made lasting friendships and shared his passion for teamwork and sportsmanship.
Brian built a respected and successful career in the building and facilities management industry. He began his professional journey in 1988 as a building inspector with the Institute for Environmental Assessment, later joining the Facilities Department at Rosemount–Apple Valley– Eagan Public Schools, where he helped advance the district’s compliance and maintenance management programs.
In 2000, Brian joined Advanced Planning Technologies, training clients and implementing facilities management systems for schools across the Midwest. Three years later, he became part of the Facilities Group at Kraus-Anderson Construction Company, providing management and planning services to clients.
Since 2009, Brian owned and operated BLB Consulting, LLC, offering expert consulting services in facilities management to public and private K–12 schools and municipalities. His work focused on improving the safety, sustainability, and efficiency of educational and public facilities. Over the years, many of his clients became close friends, drawn to his genuine care, honesty, and selfless willingness to help others. Brian was always ready to share his knowledge, offer guidance, and lend a hand to those just starting out or facing challenges. The legacy he built will continue to serve communities for years to come.
Beyond his professional life, Brian enjoyed gardening, bird watching, history, and was a reluctant fan of Minnesota sports. He will be remembered for his dedication, integrity, humor, kindness, and his unwavering love for his family.
Brian is survived by his wife, Dinah; their sons, Cole, Cameron, and Kyle; brothers, Greg (Mary) Boelter and Gordon Boelter; sisters, Cheryl (Brian) Huberty and Marcia Boelter; brother-in-law, Dallas (Amy) Johnson; and numerous nephews, nieces, and their spouses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and LeAnn, and his brother, Russel Boelter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and whose lives he touched.
