Beatrice “Bea” Turek

Bea Turek, 93, of Shakopee, MN died on June 23, 2019 at Friendship Manor in Shakopee. Celebration of Life is Tuesday , July 9, 2019 at 12:00 N oon, with visitation from 11:00 AM- N oon at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (833 S. Marschall Rd) , Shakopee. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Mpls .

Survived by daughter , Candy (Dave) Kragthorpe ; daughter-in-law , Kathy Turek ; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kristin Zappa) Turek, Holly (Patrick) Kragthorpe-Shirley, Jennifer (Jason) Budzinski, Daniel (Carly) Kragthorpe ; great-grandchildren, Ava & Cole Shirley , Mabel Kragthorpe , Nora Budzinski ; sister , Gloria Kovall . Preceded in death by husband, Al; son, Bob; parents Henry & Christena Speikers , sister s , Mary Speikers & Deloris Kotek ; brother , Henry Speikers .

Born in Montgomery, MN on January 16, 1926, Bea led a full faith-filled life of love for her family, hard work, and fun times with family and friends. During WWII, she worked as one of our country’s “Rosie the Riveters” for Boeing Aircraft. She was proud of her waitressing skills and felt her time with Al in volunteer service to the food shelf was among the best times in her life. She treasured time with her grandkids and great-grands , loved to shop for clothes and loved food , especially ice cream! She enjoyed all kinds of music and was a daily walker for many years. Life lessons she shared were to “give everyone a chance” and to see everyone as God’s children. The family extend s heartfelt appreciation to the professional , caring staff of Friendship Manor. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in Bea ‘s name to the CAP Agency Food Shelf .
