Barry Longhenry, of Prior Lake, passed away much too soon at the age of 53, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family, friends, and community.

A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service is on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a memorial gathering one-hour prior. All services will be held at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant St. SE) in Prior Lake. Pastor Jonathan Rundman will preside, and Barry’s sons will act as urn bearers. A reception will follow at the VFW.

Born in Waconia on October 20, 1971, Barrett Ryan Longhenry was the beloved son of Dale & Pat and the younger brother of Lance. Barry and Lance’s bond was filled with classic brotherly love — from playful rivalries and friendly bickering to an enduring friendship rooted in respect and shared memories on their grandparent’s farms in Glencoe. Barry was always quick on his feet, both in spirit and on the field, where he developed a lifelong love of baseball and basketball.

Barry's early years were spent in Victoria until his family moved to Chanhassen. He graduated from Chaska High School in 1990 before attending school in Winona, where he pursued his passion for technology. His love for all things tech made him a true computer enthusiast and "techy guy."

Throughout his career, Barry brought his skills and work ethic to companies like IBM and Regis Corporation. It was through Regis that he met the love of his life, Jen Dennig, as teammates on company softball and volleyball teams. They married on August 18, 2006, forming a beautiful partnership grounded in mutual respect, laughter, and adventure.

Barry was a loving father figure to Jen’s son, Dylan right from the very start of their relationship. The couple later welcomed their son Ryan, and their family was complete. He was ever-present at the boys’ games, coaching baseball, and meticulously keeping team stats for both Dylan’s hockey team and Ryan’s baseball team and making sure the boys experienced the joy of professional sporting events. His legendary end-of-season slideshows became a cherished tradition, earning him the affectionate nickname "UB" or "Uncle Barry" from the whole team.

Barry had a knack for creating joy. Whether it was at the family golf tournaments hosted by his brother Lance—never missing a single Labor Day tradition—or surprising loved ones with over-the-top Christmas gifts, his generosity and thoughtfulness knew no bounds. He loved spending quiet moments on the lake during evening cruises. Barry also shared a fondness for horse racing, golfing with friends, and spending time at the family farm in Glencoe. Barry loved watching sports and never missed an opportunity to watch the Twins, the Wild, or a golf tournament.

Known for his intelligence, dependable nature, quick wit, and generous heart, Barry Longhenry leaves behind countless memories, a community of friends, and a family who will miss him dearly. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him — on the field, on the lake, and in the hearts of those he loved.

Barry is survived by his wife, Jen Longhenry; sons, Dylan Huitt and Ryan Longhenry; mother, Pat Longhenry; brother, Lance Longhenry; sister-in-law, Debbie Longhenry; father-in-law, Dave Dennig; brothers-in-law, Joe Dennig and Nate (Tammi) Dennig; niece & nephews, Lauren (Eli), Luke, Aaron, Cam and Brooks; other loving relatives and friends.
