Azure Raeann Moses

Azure Raeann Moses, age 40, of Tonka Bay, MN, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 12-2 pm, with a funeral service at 2 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, MN. Pastor Chris Cleveland will preside. Azure will be laid to rest at Spring Lake Cemetery.

On March 1, 1985, Timothy and Sharon (Trout) Moses gave birth to their third child, Azure Raeann Moses. Azure, known by Az to many, was such a happy and well-behaved baby girl. Azure was immediately loved by everyone who ever met her, because she was such a sweet and kind-hearted person.

She had always been a gentle and caring spirit. Azure was very creative and had a natural artistic talent. She had a knack for drawing, coloring, painting, and singing. She always had her nose in a book, which helped to fuel her creative imagination and love of learning. Azure and her big brother Zach played a lot together as kids. She enjoyed playing house, which showed she had always been destined to be a mother. At two years old, she lost her two front teeth while riding a push-and-ride, and her toothless grin is forever cherished in our minds and hearts, especially since her teeth didn’t grow back for five years.

Azure’s caring and sweet personality was carried on through adulthood. People were drawn to her because she was genuine. She always made people feel special and important. She was a great listener and cared about every detail, no matter how small, and embodied that thoughtfulness to every aspect of her life.

Azure attended Prior Lake High School and graduated in 2003. Her friends described her as a quiet yet charismatic soul, known for a powerful sense of humor that could light up any room. She brought laughter and comfort to those around her, making everyone feel truly welcome in her presence. Throughout her high school years, Azure carried herself with a calm confidence and caring spirit that touched everyone she met.

Azure was such a selfless person and never wanted to burden anyone. She often downplayed the excitement around her birthday. One time, her younger siblings Zeph and Ariel decided to surprise her for her birthday at work. It may have been a small gesture, but the bliss on Azure’s face conveyed it meant much more to her.

Azure started dating her life-long partner, Jerrod Bessermin, in 2006. The two met when Amber, Azure’s best friend and older sister, brought Azure to do some “gardening” at Jerrod’s house. The two immediately hit it off and went on to build a life and family together.

Azure’s dream of motherhood came true when she and Jerrod welcomed their first child, Viviann Raeann, in 2012. Azure put her whole self into motherhood and took to it naturally. Over the years, Azure and Jerrod continued to grow their family with the arrival of Elias Timothy (2015), Isaiah David (2017), Abram Jon (2018), and Ezekiel Lee (2021).

When the Moses family lost Zedekiah in 2022, Azure was such a constant source of comfort. She always had the right words to encourage her family and uplift them. Her strength was crucial through aiding her mom and siblings through their grief.

Throughout Azure’s life, one constant was her sister Amber. Where there was one, the other was never very far away. Over the last few years, Azure became very close with her niece Cherish. The three would enjoy their late night dance parties in the kitchen together and just revel in each other’s company. Azure always looked forward to this time together with some of her favorite people.

Being one of six kids, family has always been the most important thing in the world to Azure. She was a caring and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. In turn, she was everything to her family, and they always ensured Azure knew she was so deeply loved. Her sudden passing will forever leave a hole in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Azure will be forever loved and cherished by her children Vivian Bessermin, Elias Bessermin, Isaiah Bessermin, Abram Bessermin, and Ezekiel Bessermin; life-long partner, Jerrod Bessermin; mother, Sharon Miller; siblings, Amber (Brandon) Randklev, Zachariah (Cindy Randall) Moses, Zephaniah (Sara) Moses, and Ariel (Shawn Bennett) Moses; nieces and nephews, Cherish Christensen, Arianna Long-Moses, Harmony Christensen, Caleb McHale, Sadie Randklev, and Elle Randklev; grandparents, Jeanne Larson, Harold (Papa) and Joyce (Nonnie) Trout, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Azure is greeted in Heaven by her father, Timothy Moses; brother, Zedekiah Moses; grandfather, Larry Moses; and dear friend, Adriana Abedini.
