Jason “Merle” Merrill age 30 of Prior Lake passed away on January 7th 2012. Jason was born April 24, 1981 at Austin Texas, his parents are Paul and Debra (Springer) Merrill. He was the oldest of 2 children, his childhood was spent in the Prior Lake area. Jason was a 1999 graduate of Prior Lake High School.

Jason was a gentle man with a big heart, He was a happy person known for being witty. Jason worked as a carpenter and was the owner of Spyke Construction, Inc.

Jason enjoyed motorcycles, both riding and building bikes for himself and his friends. He had a passion for snow and skate boarding. He was also a talented musician and member of a band.

Jason will be missed by his parents, Paul & Debra Merrill of Prior Lake; brother, Shawn Merrill of Prior Lake; girlfriend of 8 years, Holly McDonald of Minneapolis; grandmother, Delores Springer of Faribault; aunts, uncles and cousins and his dog, Bruiser.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012, 3 till 7 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant St. SE, Prior Lake, MN.

Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Jason’s memory by his family.
