Maureen (Moriarty) Maxson, age 52, passed away at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation one hour prior to service.
Maureen was born in New Prague, MN, to parents Patrick and Florence (Mayerhofer) Moriarty. She was the third youngest of ten children. Maureen grew up in Jordan and was always active in her youth, especially in Track & Field.
Following her high school graduation in 1985, Maureen continued her education and began working as a nurse’s aide. Her favorite job was driving for Dubar Bus Company in Prior Lake. Maureen was caring and loving with young children.
When she wasn’t working, Maureen loved spending time with her family. She especially loved fishing and taking trips with her children, Kellie and Kyle. Wherever she traveled, Maureen would visit museums—she was always inquisitive! Maureen loved to play cards, cribbage, and was an avid gardener and affectionally called her vegetables “her plant babies.”
A generous woman, Maureen crocheted over 50 baby blankets for her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces & nephews. She was tight knit with her entire family and loved them deeply. Maureen was a nurturing woman who helped others often, even taking care of her mom after her hip replacement.
Maureen’s family extends their appreciation to Dr. Beilman, Nurse Louise, and the rest of the staff at the University of MN Hospital, Dr. Ann Lee at CentraCare, and the staff of the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home and Allina Hospice. Thank you for the care provided to Maureen.
Maureen is loved and missed by her children, Kellie (Greg Larson) Moriarty and Kyle Lattery; mother, Florence Moriarty; siblings, Peg (John) Eiden, Jim (Kim) Moriarty, Mark (Tammy) Moriarty, Patricia Pexa, Marian (Randy) Baumgard, Bev (Rich) Roiger, Sharon (Richard) Pauly, Emily Lambrecht, Elizabeth Moriarty; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; important friend, Paul Kollmann and best friend, Shelly Delbow.
Maureen is greeted in Heaven by father, Patrick Moriarty; brother-in-law, Paul Lambrecht; good friend, Debra, and Dr. Paul Stahler.
