Marilyn Delores Hovelson, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2018, with her family present at her Shakopee home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, September 17, at 11:30 am, with a time of gathering one-hour prior, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee, MN. Pastor Bruce Ruggles will preside. Marilyn’s pall bearers will be Douglas Hovelson, Mark Hovelson, Robert S. Hovelson, Matthew Shimon, Charles Fletcher and Steve Johnson. She will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a private family burial.
On September 14, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN, Marilyn was born to parents Harold and Mabel (Holt) Anderson. She married Robert Vernon Hovelson on March 11, 1950 at Bethel Lutheran Church, in Minneapolis, MN. They were blessed with a daughter, Susan and three sons, Douglas, Mark and Robert.
Forever loved and missed by husband, Robert Hovelson; sons, Douglas Hovelson, Mark (Karen) Hovelson, Robert S. Hovelson; son-in-law, Randall Shimon; grandson, Matthew Shimon: sister, Elaine Hannon; other relatives and friends.
Marilyn was welcomed home by parents, Harold and Mabel; daughter, Susan Shimon and brother-in-law, Emmett Hannon.
