Lyle “Buck” Fiebelkorn, of Prior Lake, passed away suddenly at the age of 65. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation in Prior Lake. The Celebration of Life Service is Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Prior Lake. Pall bearers for Buck are Rhett Williams, Bill Fiebelkorn, Jeremiah Thompson, Nick Lehman, Chad Smith and Kevin Smith. Buck will be laid to rest at Lakeside Cemetery in Herman, Minnesota.

On July 19, 1950 William and Evelyn (Fleischfresser) Fiebelkorn celebrated the birth of their son, Lyle William Fiebelkorn. Buck was the youngest of five children, and he loved growing up in Herman with his siblings. As a boy Buck developed a strong work ethic that carried him through life. He was also very dedicated to local athletics. He played football and was on the wrestling team for Herman High School.

A few years after Buck graduated from high school, he reconnected with a girl from his hometown, Paulette Thompson. Buck and Paulette began dating, and their love quickly grew. They exchanged wedding vows on October 28, 1972. Buck had gotten a job with Anchor Glass, so they settled in Prior Lake to start a family. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Kyle, Tonya and Aaron.

When their kids were growing up, Buck and Paulette spent a lot of time bringing the kids to all of their different activities. They always had something going on and were constantly cheering on the kids at their wrestling matches, baseball, football, volleyball and softball games. They also spent a lot of time hunting. The whole family would drive up to Herman, and it soon became an outing with the entire extended family too. They’d hunt for duck, geese, pheasant and deer. Buck’s favorite was deer hunting, and this was the only time he’d take vacation from work. Buck also got to take a special trip to Colorado to hunt elk one year.

When Buck wasn’t hunting, he was working. To say that Buck was a “workaholic” is an understatement. He started sweeping floors for Anchor Glass in 1970, and he retired from his role as Production Superintendent in 2015. For 45 years Buck was a dedicated employee and set a wonderful example for his team. He’d work long days and would be in the office almost every day during the week. Buck also worked every holiday so that his employees could be home with their families.

Buck loved to work and was proud to be such a good provider, but he also enjoyed retirement because he got to be with his family. Buck was able to spend a little more time working on his John Deere tractors. He recently added a Zero Turn Tractor to his collection. Buck loved being with Paulette, and they especially enjoyed being grandparents. Buck and Paulette went to as many recitals and games as they could to support their grandkids. Buck was so proud of his family.

While Buck and Paulette were visiting family in Herman, Buck passed away unexpectedly the morning of August 26, 2015. He was a strong man who loved his family and worked hard throughout his life. Buck will be deeply missed and remembered always by his wife, Paulette Fiebelkorn; children, Kyle (Rheanna Haeg) Fiebelkorn and Tonya (Bill) Bennis; grandchildren, Santiago, Kaden, Wyatt, Jaz, Audree and Camille; sister-in-law, Dorothy Fiebelkorn; other loving relatives and friends.

There to greet Buck in Heaven are his parents, William and Evelyn Fiebelkorn; son, Aaron Fiebelkorn; brothers, Raymon Fiebelkorn and Virgil Fiebelkorn; sisters, Joyce (Tom) Barker and Shirley Fiebelkorn.

Condolence from Paula Geisler on August 29th, 2015 11:31 pm

Dear Paulette and Family……..I was so saddened to hear about Buck’s passing. Many memories of being neighbors for 20 years came flooding back. Our kids became such good friends and our families enjoyed so many special times together. Buck was always one of the strongest, kindest men I ever knew and Paulette and the kids were first and foremost in his life. I cannot imagine a world without Buck in it. Our deepest sympathy and prayers for strength and peace to Paulette, Tanya, and Kyle and all the grandchildren. God’s blessings be with Buck and with his family during this time of loss.

Condolence from Charlie (Kevin) Bacon on August 30th, 2015 7:12 pm

Paulette and family – I am so deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Buck. I have such fond memories of growing up in Herman with Buck from the time we were just little kids. Playing sandlot baseball and football and just running around town being kids was so much fun with him. No matter what the activity, Buck brought so much enthusiasm and gusto to it. As we got older and in High School, what I remember so fondly about Buck was how incredibly funny he was. He could imitate most anybody and was often happy to do so. I have little doubt that had he aspired to do so, he probably could have made it on Broadway! One thing I always believed about Buck, is that he had a good heart, and I know you more than anyone are aware of that. I’m so thankful that he came to our 40th class reunion and I had a chance to sit and visit and reconnect with him. My wife Sharon will attest to the fact that after that reunion I told her the highlight for me was seeing Buck, since it had been so long. Sharon and my sincere thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Charlie Bacon.
