Lorraine M. Farrell of Prior Lake, Minnesota, in her 90th year of life, died of old age, gracefully and peacefully Sunday, April 16th, 2017. From Lorraine, “So long family and good friends. May the good Lord take a liking to you. The journey is everything that goes on in your heart, body, and mind.”

Lorraine was born Nov. 16, 1927 to Alois and Clara (Joseph) Schneider in Jordan, Minnesota. She loved her vocations as wife, mother, and “Nana.” She had a zest for life, delighting in other people, the arts, and travel. She found great pleasure in creative pursuits (singing, musical theater, drawing/painting, fashion, flower gardening, cooking) and shared her talents with all. Social justice and human dignity were important to her throughout her life. For 50+ years she volunteered her time in numerous capacities to St. Michael’s Church in Prior Lake. Her love of music and love of Jesus and His church were the core of her strength. Her legacy of devotion, spirit, and faith in the Lord will remain in the hearts of all whose lives she touched along her journey.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil J. Farrell; brothers, Kenneth (Marlene) Schneider, Father Barry Schneider; sisters, Virginia (Merle) Smith, Patricia (Don) Abeln, Arlene (Rick Johnson) Kaufhold. Survived by sister, Alice (Harold) Busse of Prior Lake; children, Robbin (Victor) Giancola of Eden Prairie, Barry (Kitty) Farrell of St. Paul, Michael (Bernie) Farrell of Eden Prairie, Mary (Andy) Warner of Edina; grandchildren, Benjamin (Jennifer) Giancola, Christopher (Saya) Farrell, Peter (Allyson) Farrell, Gaia Farrell, Anne (KK) Azodo, Nora (Brent) Webb, Kathleen (Erik) Elmer, James Warner, Isabelle Warner; great grandchildren, Hugo Farrell, Khloe Azodo, Holden Webb, Augustus Webb, Cecilia Elmer; in-laws and many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 5th at 11 a.m. at St Michael Catholic Church, Prior Lake, preceded by visitation from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery following Mass, with luncheon afterwards. Honorary pallbearers, Cathy Simpkins, Della Borchardt, Eileen Schmokel, Missy Fashant, Darcy Fraenkel, Susan Scully.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, Lorraine asked that you “reach out and personally help someone in need.”
