Kathryn Francis Busch

Kathryn Francis Busch was born on August 3, 1937 to parents Vern and Grace (West) Seger in Montevideo, MN. She was the oldest of three children. Kathryn’s childhood years were spent in Granite Falls, Redwood Falls, Jordan, Faribault and Owatonna. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault in 1955.

On August 27, 1955, she married Vernon Busch at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. This past year they celebrated 57 years of marriage. They were blessed with three children: Kent, Keith and Kim. Kathryn was a devoted homemaker and an avid supporter of her children’s sports and activities.

Kathryn was a very outgoing person who enjoyed spending time with people. She was a hardworking and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed caring for her flower gardens, making crafts, playing bingo and cards, and was an avid reader. In addition, she was a member of the Council of Catholic Women at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She and Vernon enjoyed their time at Spider Lake in Grand Rapids, MN. Together they also spent time attending many of their grandchildren’s extracurricular activities.

At the age of 75 and a resident of Shakopee, Kathryn Busch passed away peacefully in the presence of her family and entered God’s arms on the evening of Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her residence.

Forever loved, Kathryn will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, Vernon; children, Kent Busch of Shawnee, Kansas, Keith Busch of Shanghai, China, and Kim (Tim) Hartman of Shakopee, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Emily and Grace Hartman and Mandy Cooper; siblings, Mary Wendelin of Miami, Florida, Jeanne (John) Volz of Rochester, Minnesota, and many other loving relatives and friends.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents Vern and Grace (West) Seger and 2 nephews, Mathew and Jesse Wendelin.

Pallbearers for Kathryn are Gregg Busch, Chuck Busch, David Schulze, Kevin Welch, Bruce Busch and Danny Busch.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 24th from 4-7:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 833 South Marschall Road in Shakopee. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 25th at 11:00 AM, with a visitation one hour prior to the mass at the Church of St. Mark’s in Shakopee. Father Peter Wittman will officiate. Kathryn will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan, MN.
