Condolence cards addressed to the Gause family can be mailed to Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 West First Street, Jordan, MN 55352.

On March 30, 1970, in Edina, MN, Jill was born to Gerald Wayne and Karen Gayle (Triden) Mortenson. She attended Jefferson High School, in Bloomington, MN, where Jill participated in band. She furthered her education at the University of West Florida, earning a teaching degree. Throughout life, Jill’s dedication to perfecting her craft as a special needs teacher impacted many students. The last several years, Jill supported the students at Rosa Parks Elementary School, in Mankato, MN.

While working at Richey Elementary School in Florida, Jill’s life was enriched by meeting Alex Arnold Gause. Their love story began and on March 30, 2002 (her birthday) Jill and Alex were married. In 2003, they welcomed a daughter, Samantha and in 2005 another daughter, Elena. When Jill became a mother, she stayed home to care and raise her daughters. God blessed Jill with being able to spend time with the girls. She was such a dedicated mother and great teacher to Samantha and Elena. Jill was always active in her daughters lives and rarely missed their school activities!

Family was everything to Jill. She enjoyed watching TV, especially Hallmark Movies, with them. The Gause family enjoyed the annual summer trips to the family cabin in Wisconsin. They enjoyed attending the annual excursions to Renaissance Festival and the Minnesota State Fair. Jill loved the beach, loved crafting and decorating for the holidays. Easter was her favorite followed by Christmas and Halloween. Her home was always festive and smelled like fresh baked cookies.

Jill’s adventurous spirit will always live on in others. She was hardworking and felt like she had a purpose in life. Jill had this amazing personality.

Forever loved, Jill will be forever missed by husband, Alex; daughters, Samantha Gause, Elena Gause; mother, Karen Mortenson; sister, Pamela Prokop; other relatives and friends. Greeting her home in heaven is her father, Gerald.
