Jeffrey S. Bruha passed away on January 16th, 2020 following a 14 month battle against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Jeff passed away at his home in Prior Lake, Minnesota, at the age of 58.

Jeff was born on July 21st 1961 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Jeff was a retired Search and Rescue “S.A.R” and Hospital Corpsman of the United States Navy and Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

He was avid admirer of watching his children run, the outdoors, The Eagles, the Minnesota Gophers and Vikings. He was incredibly smart and had an abundance of knowledge, far beyond the average person. He could diagnosis a patient, on the television show House, in less than four minutes.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Julie Bruha, and two children, Lauren (Nicholas Harrison) & Stephen Bruha; family dog, Nala; as well as his parents, Jim and Carolyn Bruha; brothers, Jim, Rich (Linda) and Paul Bruha; sister, Tammy Cochrane, and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, nephew, Christopher Bruha, and beloved dog, Zeta.

A visitation will be held at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant St. SE) in Prior Lake, on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 PM.

A private burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Condolence from Jeff Haroldson on January 22nd, 2020 2:36 pm

Julie, Lauren (and Nicholas) and Stephen and the entire Bruha family,
I am sending you all my healing energy and prayers to find the strength you need during this challenging time. Being a caregiver for such a devastating and progressive disease is very difficult. Jeff was very lucky to have all of you support him! Find your own peace now, knowing that Jeff is at peace as he no longer struggles to breath and talk and do all those things we just simply take for granted. So glad I was able to visit with all of you and Jeff over the past several months.
Your friend,
Jeff Haroldson

Prayers to the whole family from Lois and I plus the (twit) which is our son Scott. This is the name Jeff gave to
him when Jeff worked for us. We planned on coming up, but the weather that day turned ice and we chickened
out. I called a classmate that morning and he said that there were cars in every ditch that was open to hold them.
He was great help on the farm as all of his brothers.

I was a Flight Surgeon at K Bay with HMM 265 I had the pleasure of working with Jeff as a fine Navy “Doc” for the Marines in HI and multiple deployments Trusted judgement and medical skills with sick call , search and rescue , and multiple fast tempo deployments , Always happy to have him by my side – we had some tough times for sure . I’m sure he touched many lives ! !
