WEb Jason Durose

Jason Robert Durose, age 40, of Lakeville, MN, passed unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2020, at his home.

A celebration of life honoring Jason will be held on Thursday, August 13 at 11 am, with a time of gathering from 9-10:45 am, at Living Hope Church, 8600 Horizon Drive, Shakopee, MN 55379. Pastor Rod Pudell will preside.

Jason Robert was born on October 27, 1979, in St. Paul, MN and 7 weeks later, he was adopted and became a precious son to Robert and Marlis (Fosvick) Durose. Jason was also welcomed home to big brother Sean. Growing up in Eden Prairie, MN, family was the center of all activities. The Durose’s enjoyed Forced Friday Family Fun Nights, where they liked camping out in the living room. Hot dogs and roasted marshmallows followed with a movie or board games. The family also relished times spent in Brainerd during the summer. As a young child, Jason played sports just so he could be outside. Jason liked attending horse camps, building, and playing in his tree forts.

Jason was a workaholic. While in middle school, he bought a lawn mower and started Quality Lawns by Jason. This success and confidence lead him down a path being a Jack-of-all-trades. Most of his career was spent in auto body repair, with Abra Auto Repair, Lehmen’s Auto Repair and most recently with Caliber Collision. However, Jason had his hands in everything. He self-taught himself the trades of welding, framing, plumbing, electrical and finishing. Jason also started Durose Tree Service doing tree trimming and stump grinding. In addition, he was an amazing chef. He could do it all and it was done right.

In more recent years, Jason took his love of the outdoors and became a chef/guide at a remote salmon camp in Alaska. He would help set up camp and 2 weeks later, guests would arrive for a fun filled adventure, with being treated like a king. In Jason’s free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, boating, and anything else that could be done outside. However, Jason’s biggest passion was the love for his dogs, Sally and Jesse.

Jason was driven, genuine, caring and always had your back. He was trustworthy, loyal and had a heart of gold. Jason always said, “What comes around, goes around!” He was a big loving teddy bear.

Jason will remain in the hearts of his parents, Rob and Marlis Durose; brother, Sean (Kristi) Durose; cousins, relatives and many devoted friends.

Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation proudly served and cared for the Durose family.

Dam Jason. I know we had our issues, my doing not yours, but you were someone I always low key admired. Last time I saw you was at Natalie’s funeral, which was the first time we saw each other in a bunch of years after we fell out, and you walked up to me said “Hey bro” and shook my hand….

Enough said, RIP Brother…

My deepest sympathy Durose family for the loss of Jason, you are in my thoughts. I think you summed him up very well with your words, he was a well rounded and wonderful guy. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. One of many favorite memories, when Rob and Marlis invited me to Jason’s birthday in which you surprised him with a limo, we ate at Red Lobster (which was a big deal then, I think we were 15?) and we went to see Gallagher. A memory I will always cherish.

Condolence from Ben Furst on August 12th, 2020 1:47 am

Jason was a great man. There is no one that had a bad word to say about him and he was always so generous in how he lived his life. All of us that knew him well recognize what a loving person and hopeless romantic he was. I will forever regret my opportunity this 4th to spend it with you and i did not come. We were going to get together this last saturday one last time before you went off to alaska….. I still can’t beleive your gone. We will all miss your positive attitude and devoted freindship.

My condolences to the Durose family. Jason was an awesome guy I was lucky to know since high school, unfortunately it had been awhile since we had seen each other in person but kept up online with banter back and forth, I was working by his house last week and thought about stopping in and saying hi, but did not. He will be deeply missed by all those lucky enough to know him and hopefully his enjoyment for life even in hard times will be something for everyone to learn from

Jason is being missed by many people. This is testamony to the type of person Jason was . He always had a smile on his face and was ready to help someone, visit and chat, or be up for having some fun! Sometimes this and more within a two hour time span! Someone recently commented that he was a genuine person, a man’s man!My best to Jason’s family.

Jason & I worked at Pannekoeken Restaurant in Eden Prairie when we were youngsters. He was a cook & I was just a host. A guy came in one day & I sold him a box of muffins. Later Jason came up and said “Dude…that was Prince”! Great memories, neighbor & friend! RIP
