Harry Lee Pieper, age 73 of Jordan, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the VA Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:00AM with a visitation from 9:30AM-10:00AM all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 104 1st Street West, Jordan. Harry will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Harry attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and graduated from Jordan High School in 1961. He joined the United States Navy in 1962 and retired in 1992 after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service. Harry enjoyed playing cards and watching sports—Go Twins! Go Vikings! He was a kind-hearted, gentle man who will be greatly missed by his wife, Diane; daughter, Michelle (Todd) Pieper-Syvertson and grandsons, Luke and Blake Syvertson; adopted granddaughter, Alyssa Clay; step-daughters, Stephanie Clay and grandson, Jackson, and Marcia (Nick) Frank and grandsons, Isaac and Evan Frank; sisters, Camilla (Donald) Hartmann, Carol (Chuck) Ormston, Andrea Olson; brothers, Keith (Kathy) Pieper, Kenneth (Mary) Pieper; other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Bertha Pieper, and brother-in-laws, Mark Olson and Terry Menk.

Les and I are saddened by the loss of his cousin Harry Lee Piper. Although we have not shared the latter part of his life, Les has many fond childhood memories. Our prayers and sympathy are sent to his family and siblings.
