On Tuesday, December 22, 1938, Florence Ann was born in Minneapolis to her mother, Florence Szaflarski. She was the oldest of four children. Florence’s childhood years were spent in northeast Minneapolis, with graduating from Spring Lake Park High School in 1958.

Most of Florence’s career was spent caring for her children, Teresa, Tom and Kathy.

She enjoyed needle point, reading, puzzles, candle making, sand art and crafts in general. A mother and grandmother, Florence was caring, kind, and sweet. Her funny personality and contagious laugh was loved by everyone.

A resident of Shakopee and formerly of St. Paul, Florence Szaflarski, age 73, passed away suddenly mid morning of Sunday, March 4, 2012 at The Gardens at St. Gertrude’s in Shakopee, MN.

Forever loved, Florence will be greatly missed by daughters, Teresa (Tom) Mussehl of Webster, Kathy (Brad) Boldon of Shakopee; grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Becky and Elizabeth; sister, Joann Besta of Mpls; brothers, John Besta and Frank Besta of Mpls; other loving relatives and friends.

Florence is preceded in death by her two sons; Donavan (infant son) and Thomas Peters; and mother, Florence Szaflarski.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 7 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee. Deacon Jim Pufahl will officiate. Florence will be laid to rest next to her son, Thomas at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Farmington, MN.
