Elgin “Jim” James Foster, Sr., age 72 of Prior Lake, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family into the arms of Jesus on February 27, 2017. A graveside service was held at Credit River Cemetery with Father Tom Walker presiding.
On June 2, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa, Elgin Foster and Eleanor (Whitehouse) Foster celebrated the birth of their only son, Elgin James Foster. It was in Sioux City that Elgin met the love of his life, Kathleen Lynch, with whom he exchanged wedding vows at St. Boniface Catholic Church on September 5, 1964. They were blessed with a wonderful family and 52 years of marriage.
Elgin’s legacy will be carried on by his wife, Kathleen Foster; son, Elgin “Jim” James (Martha) Foster, Jr.; daughter, Amy (Dan) Broderick and their children, Brandt, Luke, Kate; sisters, Patricia Pyle, Roberta (John) Peterson.
There to greet Elgin in heaven are his parents.

I was saddened to hear of cousin Jim’s passing recently. My deepest condolences to Kathleen and their children. I remember fondly playing together as children many years ago.

I just learned of Jim,s passing. Sorry I did not make the service. I worked with Jim at Thermoking until his retirement. I’m also the person who helped Jim with his statue that he donated to his church. He was a great person. Rick De Grego
