Elaine Zeiher, age 61 of Shakopee, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019.

A graveside prayer service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Twitchell Cemetery in Lino Lakes. A reception and time of sharing stories will follow at St. Joseph of the Lakes, 171 Elm St., Lino Lakes, MN 55014 until 3PM.

On May 2, 1958 at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, parents Leo and Lois (Tanner) Burns celebrated the birth of their daughter, Elaine Marie Burns. She was born three minutes after her twin sister, Elizabeth.

Along with her sister and brothers, Elaine was raised in St. Louis Park. She had an outgoing personality and made friends easily in school. In her youth, Elaine could be found at her favorite disco—Bone Shakers. She continued to dance after her high school graduation in 1977.
In 1979, Elaine met Dean Zeiher through a Christian dating service. After numerous phone calls, Dean finally made the drive from Forest Lake to St. Louis Park to take Elaine on a date. They went to the movies, had dinner at My Pie, and after Dean dropped her off, Elaine went out to Bone Shakers. She was truly outgoing and full of life!

They continued dating until Elaine decided it was time for them to marry. On May 9, 1981, Elaine and Dean exchanged wedding vows. Elaine loved children and after 15 years of trying, Elaine and Dean were blessed with Laura, their miracle baby. Elaine also stayed connected with children she nannied over the years.

Some of the family’s best memories were made during their yearly trip to Disney World. She was especially grateful when extended family joined them. With her family, Elaine also loved attending the MN State Fair. Dean and Laura could hardly keep up with Elaine as she enthusiastically went in search of good entertainment and her favorite food stands!

Elaine loved spending time with her dog Otto, going out for coffee at Caribou, and watching HGTV, especially the Property Brothers.
For 17 years, Elaine was a customer service representative for Medica. While it was stressful at times, Elaine’s personality was perfect for the job. Wherever she went, she could strike up a conversation and make an impression.

Elaine was an outspoken, generous woman who is loved and missed by her husband, Dean; daughter, Laura; twin sister, Elizabeth (Tim) Franson; brothers, Tom (Linda) Burns and Tim (Roxie) Burns; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

After enduring complications from Lupus and Fibromyalgia, Elaine is greeted in Heaven by her parents, Leo and Lois.

Elaine we will miss your infectious laughter, kind spirit, heartfelt empathy and love of humanity. Many of our members at Medica referred to Elaine as their Angel after they spoke to her because of her caring and kind nature. I am sure she now has plenty to keep busy with the other Angels in Heaven. Thanks for teaching me how to be a more caring and grateful person Elaine! With Kindness, Matt Simpson

Elaine was always so caring and thoughtful. When Michael Jackson passed away, she gave me the MJ poster that is displayed in my cubicle and she checked on me to make sure I was ok. She was always checking on me and emailing me when I went to a new department in Medica to let me know she cared about me. Elaine, I am glad that we became friends and you were and always will be a bright ands shining star and I will always hold you dearly in my Heart!!!
