Delores (Hulke) Langhorst, age 89, was called home to God on Monday, March 11, 2019. She died quietly at her home while surrounded by family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, March 23 at 10AM, with a time of gathering one hour prior, all at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 5634 Luther Road S.E., Prior Lake. Delores will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Mark Neumann will preside. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family and will be distributed in honor of Delores.

Delores Delpha was born on February 15, 1930 to parents, Bernard and Emily (Gronholz) Hulke in Courtland Township, MN. She belonged to the oldest Missouri Synod church in Minnesota, Immanuel Lutheran, of which her grandparents were charter members in 1862. First attending Immanuel Lutheran School, Delores graduated from New Ulm High School in 1948. She had the privilege of being crowned the homecoming queen.

On April 29, 1950 at Immanuel Church, Delores married Wallace “Wally” Walter Langhorst. They were blessed with five children—Patricia, Judy, Cynthia, Sandra and Randy. The family farmed in Courtland until 1956, when they moved to Prior Lake, MN to operate the L & L Hardware. Delores and Wally truly appreciated the patronage of the residents of Prior Lake. Because of their loyal customers, L & L Hardware grew to be the top hardware store of seven states.

Delores was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school. Dedicated to her community, Delores was also a longtime member of the Prior Lake Business Club. In her free time, Delores was an avid reader. Her greatest joy in life was being a mama bear, always protecting and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Dee Dee.

Delores is loved and missed by daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Bergren, Judy (David) Van Wattingen, Cynthia (Kevin Vickmark) Menk, Sandra (Hal) Hoover; son and daughter-in-law, Randy (Tracy) Langhorst; grandchildren, Michel Bergren, Steven (Maranda) Bergren, Christopher Bergren, Kate Van Wattingen, Peter Van Wattingen, Ryan Langhorst, Andrea Langhorst, Luke Langhorst, Joshua Langhorst, Jason Menk, Greg (Gina) Menk, Tyler (Sarah) Dittmann-Bruns, Ross Bruns; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jadi, Braydon, Owen, Alexa, Adalyn, Madelyn, Jan, Nason, Harvey, Olivia, Adam, Pippin, Rose, Sam; brother, David (Nancy) Hulke; sister, Dianne (Jack) Graff; sisters-in-law, Marlene Hulke, Verone Langhorst; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
