Engr. Conrado Malibiran, age 83 of Savage, MN, and formerly of the Philippines, peacefully passed away on June 22, 2022. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 4 to 7 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 833 S Marschall Rd, Shakopee.

Conrado was born to parents Marcelo and Maria Malibiran on November 14, 1938, in Bataan, Philippines. He was the youngest of eight children and was raised in the Philippines.

In 1977, Conrado was united in marriage with Josefina Senson. They were blessed with 45 years together and two children. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather throughout his life. He enjoyed the simple things in life—going on road trips, watching films, listening to music, lovingly caring for his beloved dogs, and, most especially, spending time with his family.

A devout man, Conrado had a steadfast faith. He served as a deacon at the Church of Christ and often volunteered at church with his family.

Conrado’s life was defined by his kindness, generosity, patience, deep love of family, and commitment to providing them a good life.

Conrado is loved and missed by his wife Josefina Malibiran; children, Carlo James (Leila) Malibiran, Joy (Paul) de Jesus; grandchildren, Charles and Luke Malibiran, Mica and Macky de Jesus; brothers and sisters, countless nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Conrado is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.

I don’t know. How does one condole with a family when you are a member of that family? Well, maybe not the immediate family anyway. Conrado and I were the last in a brood of eight. He was only three years old when our mother died and the war broke out. We were very close to each other during and even after the war years. I always carried him piggy-back whenever we had to go places. He was affectionately called “Conring” during his growing up years. But in his adolescence, he would prefer to be called Conrad or simply Rad. Then we grew up and went on our own separate ways. Up to his last days, we were completely out of touch. But deep down, I know that someday, when we meet again, he will smile and remember. Until then, rest well Rad, even as I join Pining, Carlo and Joy in their moments of sorrow.
