Cynthia Mary was born on April 6, 1951 to Joseph and Amalia (Weninger) Mihm in Waseca, MN. The second youngest of seven children, Cindy grew up in Waseca, eventually graduating from Sacred Heart High School. As a kid, she loved ice skating, especially at Troll Bridge Park, and hanging out with her friends and siblings. During her teen years, Cindy met the love of her life. Her eyes met with Gary’s and about a year later, they were officially dating. After seven years, Cindy and Gary were united in marriage on July 22, 1972 in Waseca. Four years later, Cindy and Gary began to add to their family and were blessed with their first daughter, Molly, and their second daughter Amber, coming soon after.
Following high school, Cindy received her Bachelor’s Degree from Mankato State University, and began her life long career of helping others. She was a business teacher at Prior Lake High School for several years before shifting paths and working with various businesses in staffing and recruitment.
Cindy was a second mom to all of her daughter’s friends and loved hosting all sorts of events, particularly when it involved the backyard pool. She took great pride in her yard and beautiful flower gardens. Many memories and great times were shared floating and enjoying the pool together. Family and friends were important to Cindy. She shared lunches and hosted many family dinners including the Christmas Eve Fondue. Being a grandma, she loved to spoil her grandchildren and attend their sporting events. She lit up anytime they were around. Cindy also enjoyed traveling with her family, going to warm places like California and Florida. For Gary and Cindy’s 40th anniversary, they shared a special trip to Israel, getting baptized in the Jordan River and renewing their wedding vows.
Cindy was dedicated to her faith and family. She had a genuine compassion and care for others and was truly one of a kind. Her beautiful smile, sense of humor, and contagious laugh will be greatly missed by the love of her life, Gary; children, Molly (Bryan) Buesgens and Amber (Greg) Haffely; grandchildren, Emma and Ben Buesgens and Jack and Matthew Haffely; siblings, Pat (Keith) Williams, Jo Olson, Barb Tesch, and Bill (Suzy Mihm); sisters-in-law, Anne Mihm and Linda Mihm; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Welcoming Cindy in heaven are her parents; brothers, John Mihm and Tom Mihm; and brothers-in-law, Lee Olson and Steve Tesch.

I met Cindy in 1970 when I was an exchange student in Waseca. Her brother Tom was my best friend, and so I got to know Cindy well.
She was always very nice and also became a good friend, helping me with advice when I needed it.
Over the years we met occasionally when I visited Waseca for class reunions,
She will be missed, but her memory will always remain with us !

Gary, I am so sorry for the loss of wife Cindy. I always enjoyed talking with her at our class reunions. Having lost my husband 4 years ago, I know very well how difficult this time is and will be. May you be comforted in the light of love, today and during the tough road ahead. May Cindy’s spirit find as much joy in its journey as she found in life. My prayers are with you.

I was a year younger than Cindy but my brother, Tom was in her Class of 1969 at Sacred Heart High School in Waseca. I remember Cindy & Gary coming to the Waseca Public Library on a weeknight to study and a “date”. She was beautiful, fun, and her laugh was special. I admired her. Kim Kastner Charlebois
