Carol Ann (Thompson) Kreimer, age 62, of Prior Lake, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at her home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant St SE, Prior Lake). A time of gathering will be held prior to services from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorials will be donated to Rocking Horse Ranch in Prior Lake.
Carol was born on November 20, 1960 to Earle and Dorothy (Schindeldecker) Thompson. The oldest of three siblings, Carol was born and raised in Roseville, MN. She graduated from Moundsview High School before attending Mankato State University, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Carol began her career as a nursing assistant in Mankato, but eventually shifted to teaching preschool for over 35 years at Rocking Horse Ranch in Prior Lake. She loved being around children and working with her colleagues.
While attending Mankato, Carol’s life was enriched when she met John Kreimer, who got to know Carol’s mother who was attending technical college in the cities. The connection was made and John shuttled Carol back and forth to school. Their love blossomed and they were united in marriage on June 20, 1983 in Roseville. Together they settled in Prior Lake and built a loving family, raising three wonderful children; Kelly, Kyle, and Kirk. They loved to be outdoors, go camping as a family, and cherished spending time with each other. Carol was always family focused and had a special connection to her parents throughout her life. She was blessed to be a grandma to her beloved grandchildren Hazel and Sam. She also loved to sew, cook, and she always cared for others.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; daughter, Kelly (Nate Cree) Kreimer and their children, Hazel and Sam; sons, Kyle (Brittany) Kreimer and Kirk Kreimer; siblings, Bradley (Kerry) Thompson and their children, Wendy and Naomi, Sue (Wayne) Hartman and their son, Grant; and many other relatives and friends.
Carol is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Earle and Dorothy; and her dear friend, Mary.

So sorry to hear of this sad loss. Happy that I got to see Carol recently at my Mom’s funeral in January. Aunt Dots was my dad’s sister.
Butch and I are out of the country and will miss the service. Our thoughts will be with your family that day.
Love,
Cousin Deb Hunter

I don’t think I can quite put into words what Carol meant to Rocking Horse Ranch and to all whom she worked with and the children lucky enough to be in her care.
I was blessed to be both- my son had her as a teacher during a very difficult time of transition in his life. Carol was extraordinarily patient, loving, and kind to my son and myself as we navigated his emotions and changes. She gave him the BEST start to his school years both academically and socially. I could never thank her enough for her love and care of my son
I was also fortunate to work alongside Carol on many occasions. She was always positive, giving, and kind as a co-worker and lead teacher. I admired her ability to remain patient with her students, and the respect with which she treated them – as intelligent, capable young people whose potential I knew she envisioned and encouraged every day.
As a co-worker she asked me about my life and my son (after he had outgrown her program), and she LOVED sharing stories, photos, and fun plans she had with her family and grandchildren. She was a proud mom and grandma, and she will be greatly missed.
I am so grateful that our paths crossed, and I am holding her family and friends in my prayers ❤️

I am so very sorry for your loss & pray God will hold you close. It is so hard to lose someone you love. This was a shock since I had just seen Carol & Susie at Aunt Marlene’s funeral 2 month ago. She seemed fine & it was such a joy to chat with them. I will hold that precious memory in my heart. Love, Cousin Sandy
